SEVERE WEATHER THREAT: Strong to severe thunderstorms will move through the northern half of Alabama late tomorrow and tomorrow night.
SPC has defined an "enhanced risk" (level 3/5) of severe storms over parts of North/Central Alabama... including places like Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. There is where we expect the highest tornado potential. A strong tornado (EF-2 or higher) can't be ruled out.
A level 2/5 risk is over the rest of the northern half of the state. A level 1/5 risk extends down into South Alabama for the pre-dawn hours Thursday as the storms drop southward.
The initial risk will be from strong winds over the Tennessee Valley tomorrow afternoon; a few tornadoes will be possible in the general time frame from 6pm to midnight as the low level jet increases over the region, leading to higher directional wind shear.
A few important points....
*Be sure and have the Alabama Weather Network app on your TV, phone, and tablet. Subscribe to the AWN YouTube channel.
*AWN will be live during the event with more resources and people than anyone else. We will have five chasers teams inn the field with dash cams and drones. The extensive Regions Bank SKYCAM network across Alabama provides views won't see anywhere else. Four meteorologists will be in AWN studio A anchoring the coverage.
*AWN provides long form coverage for all 67 Alabama counties. It doesn't matter if you life in the larger cities, or way out in the country. I doesn't matter what TV market you are in, or what NWS office issues your warnings. We have you covered.
*If you live in a mobile home, be sure you can hear the warnings, and know the location of the nearest shelter. Have transportation arranged.
*If you are in a site built home, be sure and have helmets for everyone in the family in your safe place.
*If you have weather anxiety, understand events like this are common during our tornado season (November through May). Odds of any one spot being hit by a tornado, even during a big event, are low. Simply be in a position to hear warnings, and have a good plan.
I will have a detailed video briefing here early tomorrow morning.
Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: https://t.co/rzM1P0QbOl
Liftoff.
The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon.
Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.
I am opposed to this War.
This is not “America First.”
When Congress reconvenes, I will work with @RepRoKhanna to force a Congressional vote on war with Iran.
The Constitution requires a vote, and your Representative needs to be on record as opposing or supporting this war.
@eevblog I'm much more left-leaning than most Americans (&u), but it's wild to me that ID isn't just common sense. We do have a way around it in Canada - you can have someone else at your polling station (who presents ID) vouch for you, but otherwise you just.. show ID cuz like.. why not?
Grateful to @joerogan for having me on the show. I enjoyed the opportunity to sit down with Joe and delve into the issues.
Give it a watch or listen and let me know what you think.
