@anantsudarshan@s8mb Most councils do not have right of succession for "offspring", mostly it is only for a spouse or partner. Even if people do have a right of succession, if they have more rooms than needed they will be moved somewhere smaller.
After the disgraceful news that the Government has "already decided" on its plans for curbing the role of the SEND Tribunal, our co-Director, Gill Doherty, has this to say—don't miss this, because it's important. Sign up for our legal roundtable webinar: https://t.co/AqqRQVPY7t
@flcro@Docstockk@unherd I too am a mum and I agree with you about the need for new terminology. I think that people with a public voice should interrogate the subject more deeply before commenting. It is important to make sure our words do not harm.

@4838273734g@Livingstone_RJ@s8mb@Miatsf Council houses are not free, they are rented but not for profit. There is a social rent formula to ensure that people on low or average incomes can afford them. Why should housing be unaffordable for most people?
@Conservatives Whatever you do, don't mention the givers, the unpaid carers who dedicate their lives to looking after others. Stigmatised in their impoverishment by vile comments like this.
@amanda_spielman It is the understanding of why people struggle that underpins good practice. We have forgotten how people who were different used to be treated. There will always be labels, we are just moving from the really nasty ones to those that attempt to understand and accommodate.
@Mouhssin_Ismail@educator4ever36 Are we forgetting just how awful life was for people who were even a little bit different not so long ago. Having seen several kids grow up with the educational support they needed provided through a Statement/EHCP I see how diagnosis and support enabled them to thrive.
