Delighted to have @SandyHiltonPT on my podcast this week - we discussed persistent pelvic pain and how to help people live well, using books, balls and imaginary gremlins…intrigued? Have a listen: https://t.co/gsJiIlkfhb
Gynaecologists, some of you believe #perimenopause symptoms don’t start until a specific age, same exact age for EVERY woman. My sister was told age 50. Can someone pls post on the #Gynae WhatsApp chat to let everyone know ovaries don’t all start quiet quitting at the same time?
@bbc5live Please visit our website for details of the mesh sling surgery for incontience thats been suspended in UK since 2018 owing to life changing, irreversible, complications. There's pressure for this suspension to be lifted. Mesh Slings must never be used in this country again.
@MeshCampaign@bbc5live How is the gynaecology profession not pushing back on this? I still can’t get over how it sounds like many continued fitting mesh right up until the moratorium. Just awful.
@rebeccamallick 6 wk check being woeful (GP refused to give my episiotomy scar an external check), wait lists for NHS ph physio and gynae so long, gynaes not seeming to be aware of conservative measures for mild pop & UI, + how long mesh-injured women were ignored all means a lack of trust (2/2)
@rebeccamallick Part of the bigger picture too may be patient experience of gyna and women’s health across the whole spectrum of services. Something like 1/3 left traumatised or feeling we experienced obstetric violence during childbirth, then very little or no aftercare (1/2),
@MichaelaAbens0n@FibroidNetwork Yes! Women with (even mild) bladder prolapse can get this advice too. It just infuriates me. I suspect gynaes like to suggest what is in their tool box, rather than refer to others or even be aware of other more conservative measures.
@FridoKala@ShivaniM_KC@logmein22 I think it’s the volume of information & pace. I’m almost 42 and the sheer volume of information coming at you in the workplace is way higher than when I was in my 20s & 30s, across multiple platforms
@NishaNayak@DrNeenaJha Awful. I ended up going private to access decent pelvic health physio and a urogynaecologist consultation. We should be able to rely on the NHS for timely women’s health
@WomensAgenda@FibroidNetwork I hope these women get justice. Just read Bayer’s argument that chronic pelvic pain and abnormal uterine bleeding are commonly experienced by women of reproductive age. 🙄 Enough! Time women were listened to & their pain taken seriously. So many echo’s here with @MeshCampaign

My short film about NHS staff coping with menopause - and solutions from menopause cafes to better access to HRT advice. Take a look: https://t.co/a2HFYdyalY
@SarahSm20505@Liz_ORiordan Sarah, for the mild prolapse I found a great online programme that has helped with symptom relief, do DM me if you want to share tips
@MeshCampaign@mariacaulfield @EmmaHardyMP “ a lot of the problems blamed on mesh were things women would get anyway as they aged” - such an awful attitude. Interesting to read the comment about the different response to the metal hip replacement scandal. Has there been any soul searching in Gynaecology / Surgery?
@sotonDSN@drmeenalviz Wowzers, that’s bad. When I’m on work trips I often get asked where my kid is (…as if I left him in the hotel room..?). My husband hardly ever gets asked about this part of his life & he’d probably love to talk about it more
Tell me this #IWD2023#WomensDay2023 is not a fitting occasion for the Govt @mariacaulfield@SteveBarclay to offer financial redress comfort to women whose lives have been irreversibly harmed by pelvic #mesh surgery where they weren’t warned of the appalling risks @EmmaHardyMP #
Please share this in your networks and also with people with pelvic pain! We need a few more participants. It's a one-off, quick-ish survey. Thank you!
