@DailyFaceoff This is interesting. Ive wondered if any teams have taken offense to McDavid being on ice in last min of the blowout games.. or even empty net with a 2 goal lead. I would think theyd be worried about injury potential rather than stats. Maybe its a thing
@dfoedmonton@JustBiteMeMeals Imagine if babs snooped the photo upon phone inspection. Maybe its a full disclosure as phones tend to be checked by babs?
From the penalty box. The night Jean Beliveau scored three times in 44 seconds on a single minor also rewrote the penalty box itself. Until November 5, 1955 a player sat the full two minutes even if the other team scored twice or three times. After Beliveau victimized Terry Sawchuk while Hal Laycoe watched from the box, the other clubs forced a change. Beginning in 1956-57 a minor ends the instant a power-play goal is scored. Montreal voted against the rule that still governs every box today. One night in the Forum turned the penalty clock into a one-goal clock.
Truly is crazy whoa 7 breakaways by November 4!
Found this stat of leage breakaway leaders to compare:
From a late-season snapshot in the 2025-26 season (Mike Kelly / Sportlogiq tracking, around late March):
β’ Owen Tippett: 15
β’ Connor McDavid: 13
β’ William Nylander: 13
β’ Dylan Guenther: 11
β’ Jesper Bratt: 11
From the penalty box. Adrian Kempe recorded a hat trick in his return, and the connection with Artemi Panarin is already showing and turning heads. Panarin finds him in the right spots, and Kempe finishes without hesitation. When those two are clicking, the Kings look like a different team up front. The Kings have developed Kempe the right way as his shot becomes more and more lethal
@JeremyKaus@SamLenSports Lol after 3 weeks you know he hasnt done that in Edmonton? Being a heck of a coach doesnt allow you to be god. So becsuse hes a heck of a coach its ok what he did? Dont drink that kool aid so quick. Its only November. Just swish it around for now
From the penalty box. Colten Ellis dug his left edge and pushed hard across the crease while the puck was still in flight. That push let him kick the right leg out and get the toe of the pad on the shot. Most goalies are beaten once they have to move that far after the release. Ellis is stacking pads and highlight reels in his young career
