@PENNPETS Hardest part to learn was starting from an uphill position without coasting backwards into the car behind you. Then I discovered the hand brake.
Texas. Jesus what a place.
I often see Americans say on here “the European mind can’t comprehend..” and they’re are completely right.
From the scale of everything to the true southern hospitality. I loved every second and hope to be back soon. 🏴
What’s your secret?
I’m trying to like sardines.
They’re loaded in EPA and DHA and omega-3s are linked with lower triglycerides, anti-inflammatory effects and heart/brain support.
Plus there’s calcium, vitamin D, zinc, potassium and iodine.
I’m not a squeamish eater at all but I struggle to finish a tin.
An Aussie discovers Texas Road House for the first time. Epic!
The World Cup needs to be permanently held in the US. It offers the most for the teams and the fans. 🤣🇺🇸🇦🇺
Re: Disability
As I mentioned a few weeks back, I had to have knee surgery in the form of a meniscus root repair. Apparently this is one of the knee surgeries that takes the longest to recover from and requires a somewhat draconian rehabilitation in which you are very limited in mobility.
It’s been very humbling.
I’ve had some complications too so this is dragging on.
I’ve had many surgeries before, but this is the first one that has truly limited my mobility and made me unable to enjoy basic pleasures in life. Heck, I can barely walk around a grocery store.
I’ll never again take for granted the basic joy that comes with living a healthy life.
Yeah I’m kinda depressed and unhappy, but this too will pass. Many people suffer from far worse, and I realize that.
Just venting, thanks for listening.
When the Jasper twins were just 12 years old, they stood in a hospital hallway watching their uncle fight for his life. The doctor talked to them as though they had no clue what was going on. Right there in that hallway, they made a promise to each other: "We could do better than that." They are now Dr. Travan Jasper and Dr. Travis Jasper, and they came back home to Richmond, Virginia to run the emergency department at Chippenham Hospital together.
The brothers both graduated at the top of their high school class in Richmond and were the first in their family to go to college and become doctors. They earned full scholarships to Stanford University and then went to the University of Chicago Medical School. For 15 years, they served as co-medical directors together at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia.
The Jasper brothers are the only twins running the same hospital department in a network that includes 18 hospitals across Virginia and New Hampshire. To help people tell them apart, Travan wears green and Travis wears purple. Together they are fathers to eight children and remain dedicated to mentoring young people and coaching youth basketball. In an interview with WRIC ABC 8News, Travis said, "Love your neighbor as yourself and I get to love my brother as myself."
.@FreddyLA7 is stranded in Oklahoma and had their flight delayed until tomorrow. They’re going to miss their game.
This gentleman has stepped up and offered a jet! We need Freddy to respond! 🔥❤️🇺🇸🇩🇪
America is just kicking ass with the World Cup!
How amazing it has been for Americans and those who’ve come to America for the World Cup! They said it couldn’t be done peacefully, yet all we see are videos of Scots kiltin’ it up and traffic conin’ statues, Vikings rowin’ up escalators and everywhere they gather, Tartan Army bagpipin’ neighbors awake in the morning, Japanese cleaning’ after matches, Irish singin’ in the bars, Mexicans playin’ mariachi music … and everyone’s enjoyin’ everyone else’s company. It’s happened. So beautifully, so magically … it’s happened. And we LOVE it!
We are all one race: HUMAN. We’re finally starting to act like it.
My son Jack was diagnosed with autism when he was eighteen months old.
He went to an integrated preschool.
He was referred out of district in sixth grade.
He graduated from a very small high school.
Three years ago, after a year in a community with a lot of support, Jack was accepted into college.
Yesterday, I offered to share our story with a major online platform. They declined. They said they are only interested in traditional success stories.
What is this, I thought, if not a success story?
It's not a pretty story, that's true. It's not traditional.
It's not a s story wrapped up in a perfect GPA or glowing recommendations.
It's a story about a boy, a diagnosis, and a whole lot of grit and determination.
"Mom. I am a college student now."

I can’t speak for the entire country, but I can speak for my own backyard.
My baseball-obsessed 7 year old hasn’t ever so much as touched a soccer ball in his life and now he’s spending his evenings out here pretending he’s Flo Balogun.
I don’t think it’s possible to overstate the impact this World Cup will have on this sport’s popularity in America.
We were told we'd be shot by ICE, we never saw them
We were told the police would be tough, they partied with us
We were told the Americans didn't want us, they embraced us like family
Stop listening to the 'media' trying to divide us! live your lives and make memories! 🧡
Imagine being so triggered by who's in the White House that you'd stop in the middle of your bike ride in order the vandalize a reflecting pool in the middle of the day with tons of witnesses.
TDS is the worst mental disorder on planet Earth!
Today this beautiful young child approached me at Chick-fil-A and thanked me. I took him to the counter and bought him a cookie.
He then had me wait and he gave me a gift card to eat at Chick-fil-A again. He is the very reason I have served in USMC, State Police And now City Police.
The faith, innocence and love of a child is immeasurable. In a world that’s divided by racial tension, prejudice and discrimination, why can’t adults be more like kids.
He didn’t see black or white, he saw only a law enforcement officer and who he called a hero. I applaud his parents for raising a child who loves everyone.
I know that some people hate police, but it’s days like today that God often reminds me of those who love, honor and respect the badge and uniform. This is another @best day ever@. God is always reminding us of his presence. 🙏😇🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸"

It should not have been possible.
Out of a thin line of colonies came the most remarkable roster of exceptional men the world has ever seen.
At the same time. In the same place. For the same cause.
A printer who pulled lightning out of the sky and then talked France into funding a revolution. A 33 year old Virginian who wrote the sentence that would echo through every freedom movement since. A failed Boston businessman who could turn street anger into organized resistance across colonies. A penniless immigrant who built the financial spine of a nation before most men his age had found their footing.
They did not even like each other most of the time. They feuded, schemed, and attacked one another in the press. But when they aimed it all at the same impossible target...they hit it.
Most nations are lucky to get one or two men like that in a century. We got a room full of them at once.
