@astupple saw this earlier and was curious your response..... the study results seem very hard to quantify anyway.. it is very likely comparing neglectful vs. strict parents. It does not account for your alternative...

@astupple@mbateman Amazing -- have to share the quick story... we just started homeschooling. One of our kids was obsessed with the "walking program" at his elementary school. He would run 2-3 miles every day at recess. We tried re-creating this at home due to his "passion"...
@NeilShenvi Wow, I didn’t even read the “rule of thumb”. I just had Chatgpt write an invoice line item for me and copy/pasted it over… whoops! To be clear, these are great rules for ‘school’. The problem is the school environment has never been more disconnected from real life.
