.@ChineseEmbTZ, EACOP threatens Tanzania’s environment and biodiversity. China must reconsider its support for this destructive pipeline and invest in true sustainable development. #StopEACOP
Western governments are increasingly targeting — even jailing — climate protesters over acts of civil disobedience. Linda Lakhdhir of @ClimateRights says "countries who have held themselves up as beacons of rule of law are essentially repressing peaceful protest."
Citi just had 15 arrested for playing CELLO at their global HQ. Hey @Citi - why are you arresting nonviolent climate protesters? #SummerofHeat

On July 19th, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced a $358M pipeline project with Enbridge Gas.
The project contradicts Canada’s objectives outlined during the 2023 UN COP climate discussions.
This is the second pipeline approved this year in Ontario.
Shame!

HUGE VICTORY against climate-killing LNG!
The DC Circuit just vacated @FERC’s approval of Rio Grande LNG and Texas LNG because #EnvironmentalJustice.
This win brought to you by years of activism by our Gulf Coast brothers and sisters. Proud to stand with them. #SummerOfHeat
Ugandan organizers & climate defenders march to @AIGinsurance to demand that AIG not insure the East African Crude Oil Pipeline.
If built, EACOP would displace 100k Ugandans and Tanzanians. It would create 25x the annual emissions of Uganda and Tanzania.
AIG, reject ecocide!
HAPPENING NOW: It's come to this. Summer of Heat has gone straight to the source. Hundreds of activists have marched to CitiBank CEO Jane Fraser's apartment in Manhattan and constructed a memorial to the millions of children killed and displaced by Citi's fossil fuel expansion.
Scientist Rebellion fully endorses the @_oilkills campaign for a global treaty limiting the use of fossil fuels.
Data from @CopernicusECMWF makes clear the need for immediate action. 1/5

INSURE OUR FUTURES!
Today, we shut down AIG HQ to demand they stop insuring the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), a project threatening communities in Uganda and Tanzania.

Good morning! This week I learned that 20,000 kids around the world are displaced from their homes EACH DAY by the climate crisis.
With knowledge comes the obligation to act. So, I’m headed back into NYC for more #SummerOfHeat civil disobedience.

We analyzed more than 100 breaking news stories about recent record-breaking heat and rainfall in the U.S.
Less than half mentioned climate change.
Only 11 percent mentioned fossil fuels, or other pollution sources.
