Today, Deputy Mayor @ausmalik and I submitted an urgent motion to demand the Province of Ontario give back our waterfront, including the Toronto Islands and Little Norway Park.
We have been demanding to see the plans, despite the Toronto Port Authority actively hiding them. We have researched the impacts on housing, the environment, congestion, and more. We have discovered who would benefit - like the Wall Street bankers at JP Morgan. Council has formally opposed the unacceptable overreach. We still do.
We thank the Federal government for listening, and the thousands of people who worked relentlessly to make Toronto's voices heard.
Return our waterfront to us.
I want to thank the Prime Minister and the Minister of Transportation for listening to the people of Toronto.
Thank you to everyone who spoke out, shared your voice, and stood up for our community. Your relentless advocacy has made a difference.
Now that this expansion is not moving forward, we are calling on the Province to return the City’s land.
Together, we can continue working to build a waterfront for future generations, with new parks, housing and more.
By-laws or any law for that matter is nothing without enforcement. It's past 12AM and teens have escalated to shooting fireworks at each other and passing cars at 31 Woodward Ave @TorontoPolice@MayorOliviaChow Loosing a limb or a life will be too late for parental out-cry

Iceland—previously the only Arctic nation without mosquitoes—no longer holds that distinction.
"The detection of mosquitoes just north of Reykjavík in 2025 reflects an ecological shift already underway," write Amanda M. Koltz and Lauren E. Culler in a new #ScienceEditorial.

@georgebell@TTChelps What did you expect, the @TTChelps has zero organization. They can't even run their train and bus schedules on time...you think they can handle communicating between agencies and designing & printing a sign? They'd need 6 months notice for such things. #incompetence
Very proud of @hamna_ammar! Her undergraduate research has just been published as her first paper, with Hamna as the first author. Hamna uncovered a requirement for Ezh2 in Isl1-expressing progenitors for proper cardiac and hindlimb development.

boarding update: the people triumphed and made a little paths down. Thank you to whoever risked having wet pants and shoes all day for the rest of us. #ttc#dobetter
@MarcNixon24 They don't deserve a raise. I haven't had a package from Canada Post delivered without a slip even when I'm home waiting for it. They don't even bother to knock, just stick the pick up slip on your door and leave. They can't even do the basics of their job right or are too lazy.
@northerner69659@CBCNews Are you indigenous to Canada? If not, then shut the fuck up. You're not Canadian either by your apparent definition. Newsflash, we're all immigrants in this country. The only ones who aren't are our various indigenous communities.
Reminder: COVID can reactivate latent TB and even a staunch minimizer noted that a rise in TB would be some of the best evidence of COVID harming immune systems.
