@ZontarAlt In my school they made merits dependent on getting a smiley face on your work for doing it well. When you got 9 smileys you could get them crossed out in exchange for a merit ticket. Overly bureaucratic.
@ZontarAlt House points in British schools work on a ticket system. When you earn a merit for your houses you get a ticket in the house colour (mine were yellow).
You have to hold onto your tickets until the merits are tallied your pencil case gets clogged with merit tickets.
@ShinMarginalScr This is also why creating jobs is increasingly a matter of "investment" from the central gov and not encouraging capital formation. People assume everything is illegal (because much of it de facto is) and that the state has to spur them to action.
@ShinMarginalScr No reason why we couldn't run the aged miners playbook and have bands of zoomers forming co-ops to erect terraced housing, aside from the planning system entrenching the assumption your plan will probably be rejected.
@Mikey1284461@Toon_Unfiltered They were going to shut themselves down then Labour nationalised them to keep them going. This wouldn't have been an issue if Labour's distribution of industry policies hadn't been suppressing new light industry for decades so that unemployed workers had nowhere to go.
@FerfeLaBat@PrincessOfSummr You can get around this by registering as not having a TV. Alternatively do not register and watch the license inspector and policeman make a fools of themselves when they do actually have a warrant. /2
@FerfeLaBat@PrincessOfSummr This is true. The first inspector does not have the legal authority to enter and has to come back with a warrant + policeman if you refuse at which point they will basically try to bait you into receiving a live TV broadcast so they can fine you for doing so without a license. 1/
@shibatajun They aren't wild. They have been selectively bred over thousands of years to be ideal for ploughing and transport. Wild horses are so different from modern horses that they are considered a different species.
@KugelV6 This is also why the authorities can tolerate riots in France (not that they should). It will have zero impact on the nation's major infrastructure and capital stock the way a riot might years ago.
@KugelV6 They don't seem to realise that this isn't the 1930s anymore. Say radicals actually seize control of an estate. It's literally just an estate that can be quashed as post '45 town planning emphasises locating homes away from factories and infrastructure.
Wetherspoons, Piccadilly, Manchester. Not really too near Pic but amazingly not been before! Carpet an excellent 9. The locals seem a bit weird in the head but a couple let me share their table mainly cos they are watching Traitors on their phone. Oakham drinks great.
@criticalanna@parad1saea__ Same. I prefer to cook alone and will just default to something quick and simple to cook like if other people are in the kitchen
@criticalanna I do sometimes wander to what extent begging your parents to teach you to cook is a common autistic experience. Mine started teaching me in chunks when I was around 16-21 (this was around when I had acquired a BRD mess tin and started cooking bacon outside over an esbit stove).
@HackneyManLee@McCartney000 Your data is deleted from the internal system so they have no record you applied for a job within the last six months that they can use to filter out the application. This makes them more likely to read the application.
@StefanFSchubert They shouldn't. The economy should be reorientated to have more craft trades and smallholders. Employees will retire around 65 but people will generally work a craft of some sort until they die and many people will never be employees.
