The new mutual defence pact among Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan is almost certainly aimed at Iran and not Israel.

The leaders of all three countries are vassals of Washington, and Trump has expressed no objections to the agreement. It is almost unthinkable that these three servants of Washington would enter into this agreement without Trump’s approval. Indeed, it may well be that Trump pressured them to do the deal.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia is in a hot war with Iran and its allies whereas Israel and Saudi Arabia quietly collaborate behind the scenes - despite the empty pro-Palestine rhetoric of the Saudi regime.

The peoples of Pakistan and Turkey are overwhelmingly opposed to their countries becoming involved in the war on Iran, but this pact gives the Turkish and Pakistani regimes a pretext for entering the war. If Iran hits the Saudis, they can characterize their entry into the war as the defence of a fellow Sunni Muslim state rather than a defence of the child-murdering Israeli regime.

This pact has the potential to bring the most powerful, predominantly Muslim states into direct conflict with each other - which is precisely what Israel desperately wants.
