I did a design test + shared my portfolio, then was asked to keep iterating before hiring or adding me to his team.
Is that standard practice? Was I even right to do the test at all?

I’ve never been one to design for celebrities or public figures for free. Is that wrong? Absolutely not. Different designers have different reasons for doing it. Some want to build their portfolio, some are driven by admiration, and others simply follow trends. And that’s fine,

Moses Bliss is trending because creatives are accusing the gospel singer of exploiting and disrespecting designers for cheap PR.

On Facebook he asked designers to create free fliers for his event. So he’d pick and employ his favorite designer.

Under 5mins Facebook people started flooding his page with AI design, hours later some graphic designers presented normal designs..

The news got to Twitter, and creatives became furious at the brazen disrespect for the profession, arguing that he won’t ask chefs or developers to do such. And he already has a designer, all of this is for clout.

Others strongly supported him, arguing that there are people desperate for that opportunity and it could change their lives.

But Moses Bliss eventually didn’t pick anyone, instead went with a mediocre AI flier. (Now deleted)

Last year Moses said he doesn’t use twitter because last time he dropped a song here, they dragged me for days asking if he was truely a Gospel singer. So he had to delete it for his sanity.
