@orenmeetsworld When you say dependent on workflows from the max plans, how are you using those plans for external workflows? Don't you need to use the API?
I just spent a month building a product that required Spotify OAuth to find out that you need 250k MAU to be considered for use of their API past 20 users AMA
I'm building a live, day by day, updating map of the world that will run from today in 1939 all the way through 1945.
News from various sources all collated to produce a state of the world.
@ww2_replay
I need your help!
What were some good news sources back then from various different countries? I want to increase the amount of data coming in so as to reduce bias.
I have 6 months before WW2 starts so plenty of time to get this working well.
2nd March, 1939
Philippe Pétain was appointed France's first ambassador to Spain, shortly after General Francisco Franco's victory in the Spanish Civil War.
The appointment was made amid growing tensions in Europe, with Pétain—then 83, a revered World War I hero, and a former instructor of Franco—sent to Madrid in hopes of securing Spain's neutrality and reducing German and Italian influence over the new fascist regime. His mission was seen as diplomatic, leveraging his personal connection with Franco, who had studied under him at France’s military academy.
Two main technical goals this week with @ww2_replay
1. Explore costs/timesink of adding two more newspapers. One UK based and one ideally non-directly involved in the war (australia? nz? ireland? has to be English unfortunately)
2. Update map to be reflective of the time rather than today's borders and countries.
It is so easy to get so sucked into this project because there is SO much to do and it is not technically very challenging. It's more a time sink to find the right newspaper and figure out the best way to extract data that doesn't get me rate limited and that I'm efficient with my llm api keys.
At that point I think it would be at a sufficient point where more history-aligned people and communities would be interested in the project.
