Challenging discourses that perpetuate social problems through reframing the discourses is a essential leadership practice for promoting positive social change and I will practice reframing. #OUB329 W17

Differences in activist leadership are not necessarily a weakness. Democratic leadership practices can embrace diversity resulting from differences. This approach can enable me to explore constructive conflict in working life @kristina_risley

#b329#wk18#B329challenge this week Blue team and finalised our final call to action and submitted our work. It was a great journey and I appreciated the opportunity to work in a team with my fellow OU students @kristina_risley
@IamtheadamLFC@LFC@HillsboroughSu1 I feel you with regards to the anxiety and depression - I've resorted to only listening to the matches on the radio so far this season. It's just too much to take with them not playing well at all.
@Melinda_LanB329@ClaireA_OU UK right-wing newspapers amplify the current government’s disdain towards striking workers. Hopefully, however, overt resistance can eventually create a breakthrough.
@GeorgiabB329 A question that has been simmering for me is whether place-based leadership can also apply in one fell swoop to similar places such as prisons or schools throughout a country rather than solely focused on a geographical area? @kristina_risley
@kristina_risley Storytelling is useful for my team's #B329LeadershipChallenge in that a dominant projection of concern 🤗for staff wellbeing could merely be an insincere box-ticking exercise and result in the resistance of Escape 🏃♀️=( 😠

An organisation can use storytelling to spread a dominant view which might be employed in either a positive or negative manner.

Grint suggests that collaboration should address wicked challenges. As such, in our teams’ collaboration for the #B329LeadershipChallenge we are looking to address any root causes we find within our wicked 🧙♀️ challenge.
@kristina_risley W14 #OUB329
A frequent issue in organisations is addressing #WickedChallenges as if they are merely tame challenges, thereby not addressing the root causes of these complex, wicked, problems.

@Rebecca29491@KateKHammond Absolutely. Taking time to listen to others irrespective of whether we 'like' them or not can be extremely valuable and provide a sense of balance in decisions we take.
@Izmagda11 I found it interesting that positive sum outcomes aren't necessarily guaranteed through collaboration and that integrative leadership theory seems to improve upon game theory.
Conflict will draw out opinions from those in a team who might normally keep potentially valuable opinions to themselves. In addition, conflict can quickly result in the creation of alternative, innovative ideas for tackling a problem. @kristina_risley W11 #OUB329
I think that leaders should indeed provoke conflict so long as everyone in the team has been briefed on the agenda beforehand so it's not a shock that they'll be involved in a conflict scenario and perhaps become defensive. @kristina_risley W11 #OUB329
