Labour, Tories, Lib Dems and Greens: I demand you stand down in Clacton. I will be a unity candidate and pledge to build at least one affordable house.
Nigel Farage says he wants The People versus the Establishment. So be it.
Leave him to me.
OK. For the last time. If you want to march against 'Genocide' you can do so. I think you're wrong. I think it increases the risk to the Jewish community. But it falls the right side of legal protest and expression. What you can't do is wave Swastikas, call for the death of Jews, call for Zionists to be swept from the streets, support Hamas, call for the complete eradication of Israel and support terrorists. And that's what those of you in the pro-Palestine movement have been doing en-masse, month after month after month. Yes, there are some of you who don't endorse this. But you've had chance after chance to clean house. And you've failed. So now you are going to have to accept the consequences.
What fucking difference does it make if this murderer was left or right. Pull yourself together, read a book, get some exercise, have a whiskey or walk the dog or make some pasta or go fishing or just do anything other than let this algo pickle your brain and ruin your soul
BREAKING: Total US debt has officially crossed above $37 trillion for the first time in history.
This puts total US debt up +$780 billion since the debt ceiling was raised following the signing of the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" into law on July 4th.
This equates to an average rise of a whopping +$22 billion per day.
Last week alone, the government sold $724 billion in Treasuries through 10 auctions.
The US debt crisis is worse than ever.

Surprise! While the NSA eliminated one egregious billing practice, it left several underlying problems of unfair billing practices largely intact. Good read for anyone interested in Surprise Billing/No Surprises Act from @DevonHerrick

This is an important bi-partisan bill (in both the House and Senate) to reign in the recurring & constant levels of non-compliance with the #NoSurprisesAct payment provisions by the health plans.
Recall that the plans are losing 80+% of their cases per CMS’ official statistics for ‘24.
In a recently released @EDPMA survey of its members who had won over 300K cases in ‘24, nearly 60% of those IDRE determinations were not paid by the plans within 30 days of the IDRE decision.
Dr. Murphy’s bill would permit CMS to penalize either party who does not pay in accordance with the NSA, plus interest to the successful party in IDR (known as the initiating party or IP). CMS would also be required to issue regular reports on payment compliance, complaint investigations and other key aspects of the NSA.
For reference, in the 118th Congress, the bill was HR 9572 and there have been a few minor tweaks but the essentials of the bill have not really changed.
Time to get busy now with advocacy, asking for co-sponsors and lobbying leadership to hold a mark up of the bill.

@LorenAdler Plot twist: Blue Orca Capital now alleges Nutex's 'arbitration business model' involved a mystery consultant (HaloMD) running a coordinated fraud scheme to extract millions from insurers. https://t.co/n9kutevCiW
"HaloMD has been named in three recently filed federal lawsuits accusing it of defrauding insurers by manipulating the No Surprises Act (NSA) arbitration process."

At the risk of starting a discourse, I really don't think the takeaway from Mamdani should be an ideological one. That's not how voters sort themselves. That's really not how he ran. He had a clear + resonant message—affordability—and he took it everywhere. Often.
It’s not over yet etc etc, but tonight is a generation-defining victory for democratic socialism, for pluralism, for progress, for human rights, and for the common good.
Fuck the billionaires. We will win. 🌹
There is an argument to be made, at the scale it was run and the votes that were pulled, this is the single biggest victory by a left-wing candidate in American history. This is NYC. Zohran needs to win a general election, but boy does he have momentum entering it.
