@elonmusk Agreed. But, what do you have to say about the republican tax/spending bill?
Adding $3 trillion to the credit card?
Lose a lot of credibility when you speak to cost cutting on one hand and your partners are profligately spending on the other.
@JunkScience This cold spell was driven by a mass of cold air from the North Pole. It’s not indicative of average global temperature, much less average global temperature over a long time period.
https://t.co/wWBqmWlZaC
@PeterDClack How about you map that versus the types of life earth supported during those periods?
Mammals have only lived within the last 100 million years.
This is not a game that’s smart for us to play!
@pmarca Correlation versus causation. What’s more likely, ayahuasca is pushing founders to quit, or, founders already struggling/thinking of quitting are taking ayahuasca?
@jcmcclellan86 @FiveHeadClub@RBReich@CommunityNotes People should get and deserve FACTS to base their opinions on. Robert Reich consistently distorts the truth.
It’s not good when Trump does it, it’s not good when Biden does it, it’s DEFINITELY not good when supposed academics do it.
It feeds the nastiness we have in the world
@mcuban There are two words the Biden admin has used i take major issue with.
1) Invest: investing involves risk of capital. The gov is transferring funds. They are not investors.
2) lower prices: as stated above, only innovation can lower prices long term.
@mcuban Not a Trump supporter but Mark, the gov can not lower prices of anything, you know that!
Only innovation can long term lower prices.
They can maybe remove some regs, or, they can subsidize prices.
Outside of that, they do not have the tools to lower prices.
@mcuban@FoxNews@NEWSMAX@CNBC@CNN@dailywire@marklevinshow@DavidSacks@Jason Mark, you’re an investor in many businesses. Do you really think long term the gov can “bring down” the cost of anything?
The gov can “subsidize” costs, but only innovation can bring down costs.
Btw not a trumper, but, let’s be honest abt that question.
@RBReich Yeah you’ve pretty much clearly outlined here, it’s a lot of money, but barely makes a dent in our $35 trillion debt pile - even if we taxed 100%!
The issue is clearly spending. It’s hard to look at gov spending versus gdp, and tax receipts, and make any other conclusion.
@NewProgressUSA You realize most jobs you’re paid to actually just be there to help people.
A toll booth operator or cashier may not be busy all day, but, when a customer comes in you need someone there.
Not sure what this persons job is in the example?
@JaneGeorgeTN pro price cap people generally have a very simplistic view of how the economy functions, “stop make the prices rise”.
Profit margins for grocers are essentially at a 30 year average - the issue is downstream (obviously)
@JaneGeorgeTN People aren’t defending the fat cats. They’re just pointing out that a price cap is terrible economic policy and the grocery supply chain is way more complicated than you’d think. There’s logistics, storage, raw goods, suppliers etc before it even gets to the shelves
@jeffreytucker Price controls simply don’t work. They limit new supply coming on (rising prices are a signal for new competitors to enter the market), so it long term destabilizes the economy.
That’s why you often see empty shelf’s in countries dumb enough to try them.
@jeffreytucker Maybe they actually have some integrity, as a) price controls are about the most universally agreed upon bad economic idea by economists and b) there is little evidence grocery stores are price gouging.
