@FractureDoc Seen all methods during training. Supine free legged with traction (as in the pic on the right) is prob my favorite. I think nice to be able to do all methods, then can ask trainees what way would be helpful for them to see.

@barb_iturates Ortho trauma is pretty awesome. You work hard just like gen surg trauma, but far fewer overnights.

You want to be the one who works as hard as anyone, goes above and beyond, and doesn't take shortcuts at work, but WHEN time to go home, RUN out of the hospital. Give your family your ALL when you're with them. If you suffer in one setting, probably going to suffer in the other.

I have had students and residents that want to get out as soon as possible to see their family and others that are willing to spend an extra few to spin the urine or walk down to the ER to see the patient with the sodium of 103.

Scrub as many cases as possible. Take notes. Try not to forget things. (More) autonomy comes with increased preparation and skill.

Dr. Fu convinced my wife to move to Pittsburgh for my residency when I couldn't. Will never forget the day we visited -- he took us out to Lulu's Noodles and called me throughout the day to tell me where to take Kimie to make sure she'd love Pittsburgh. Will miss him greatly.
