- good jobs
- security of our pipeline supply
- tax receipts from oil itself, suppliers, employers and employees
- balance of payments credits

@DanielJHannan JR clearly never used the M6 toll. It’s a monumental waste of resources. Should have reduced traffic on M6 but hasn’t, because it’s too expensive and no faster than when the M6 is clear. Should be toll free, but govt pays by vehicle count.

@Godfrey_Bloom I think pedestrianisation has now become a curse to many towns. Fancy destination towns are fine, but middling market towns suffer because parking is often too remote, inconvenient and expensive. Gloucester quays has good parking, and may explain its success.
