@luhc here’s a picture of the alarm we installed a day and a half too early to get funding from the original WWRF. I guess we should have waited to make sure we got the funding? 15 December - end March installation time = £0 @ukcag
2 years, 2 months, 2 breakdowns, £2.5 million and a fire - and 1 out of 4 has an A2 🎉🎉🎉🎉 still a lot of work to do, but tonight I have a beer. @ukcag#cladding#buildingsafetycrisis
Cladding friends - we are v soon going to have quite a few labourers (and maybe scaffolders) free of work. If anyone is looking for a contractor, let me know.
@EnfieldCladding @luhc Oh I’d plan on a bit longer if I were you. It then needs to go to lawyers, then you’ll need to get OPS updated, then you’ll need to wait for the 4 stage approval in the GLA, then the trigger, then the transfer - then 3-4 days, then you’ll have it.
@luhc why has it taken you and the GLA nearly a year to define what 50% completion is for a drawdown? We have suspended works waiting for money owed in November. More wasted cost for the fund. More delays. I don’t get it. I have a definition if it helps? @ScandalUk@ukcag
PLEASE STOP REMEDIATION WORKS: the subject line of the email i’m about to send my contractor (for the 2nd time) due to administrative delays getting our overdue drawdown. What a dangerous waste of time (and public money the delays cost). @ScandalUk@ukcag@CladdingScandal
- Where building owner does not have resources to pay, there will be a Florrie's Law cap of £10k (£15k in London) on what can be billed to leaseholders. This is to be backdated and includes waking watch (so if you've already paid £7k, further costs capped at £3k)
@luhc Yet our application was denied as we began installation a day and a half too early. A further 3 months of installation and waking watch cost incurred; 170k cost to leaseholders for an alarm that proved its worth in a recent fire. A policy of ‘don’t act early’. @ukcag
@michaelgove’s extended waking watch relief fund starts today. The alarm we commissioned in March 2021 that evacuated us during a fire yesterday isn’t covered as we started installation on 15 December 2019 (2 days too early!). 12 months, still 170k down, same arguments. @ukcag
A close shave today with an electrical fire in a part of the building where work has been completed. Work will need to stop soon due to @mhclg process slowness, @networkrail and the overwhelmed GLA. lives are at risk. The process needs to change. Time is up. @ukcag
As a qualifier: one flat totally destroyed due to TV booster inside setting on fire. More defects in the building found by fire specialists. Full inspection underway - no one thankfully hurt. Special thanks to our contractors PA Finlay and of course LFB for an amazing response!
