@PaulWheat73@MichaelAArouet There is no socialism in Europe as far as I know. There isn’t even socialism in China even this they call themselves communists.
@MichaelAArouet@Karnickleon In most EU countries you simply don’t need AC and Americans have a pathological relationship with AC: walk into most US offices in the summer and you won’t die from heat shock but from freezing to death 🥶
@MichaelAArouet Although not entirely wrong, it’s a stupid simplification: the US has already fallen apart because of their low taxes: sky-high debt and a poor underclass. More nuance please.
@MichaelAArouet Completely absurd prediction: first, rich European countries will have no problem attracting people from those failed states you predict to be in good shape - it’s unlikely they will be any time soon, given that their best-educated people will run away as quickly as they can
@nikolaushaufler Given the massive increase in immigration, there are already too many people in Germany, at least in terms of ecological footprint. The German government simply ignored the obvious solution: investment-based retirement plans.
@VisualCap I wonder how much this has to do with „worker productivity“, e.g. with Luxembourg having next to no industry but a lot of financial services which generate high incomes but nothing tangible (especially when a lot of financial services are fully automated).
