🚫Up to 100% tariffs on Russia and Belarus! The EU just imposed prohibitive tariffs on fertilizers and key agricultural goods from Russia and Belarus. Once supplying 25% of nitrogen fertilizers to the EU, Russia will now be priced out of the market. New rules also close loopholes via Belarus and target €380M worth of untaxed imports. And Belarus itself exported around 10M tonnes to the EU in 2024 alone. This is key to protect local producers and, of course, reduce Moscow’s leverage over vital sectors. The flooding of Lough Funshinagh in Roscommon has reached areas never seen before including a low lying area near the Lough that has never flooded before putting homes in danger. A resolution to reduce the flooding needs to be found urgently with works on pipe completed.
