Turkism and Islamic jihad are the driving ideologies behind the 2020-2023 Azeri-Turkish war and genocide against Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh.

The ideology of Turkism (i.e. pan-Turkism, pan-Turanism or Turanism) argues in the superiority of a supposed Turkish race and wants to unite all “Turks” under one country called "Turan" which would span from Europe to the Far East. Its main target is Central Asia. Some parts of Russia are among the targets of this ideology. 

In this 2021 photo, a map of the Turkic-speaking world was accepted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from his coalition partner and leader of the Turkish Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahceli.

The map includes not only Turkey, but also large areas of southern Russia and Siberia, parts of Greece and other areas of the Balkans, Central Asia, China’s Xinjiang region, Mongolia and Iran. In other words, it was a depiction of a so-called “Greater Turan”.

Hence, the governments of Turkey and Azerbaijan see Armenia as an obstacle before their Turkist-Turanist project. 

That’s why, they aim to wipe out Armenia from the map. That’s why, the war and genocide against Artsakh isn’t just about Artsakh. Turks and Azeris openly say their next target is Armenia. Azerbaijan's president, Ilham Aliyev, refers to Armenia as “western Azerbaijan”.

If implemented then this expansionist and Islamic-supremacist project will endanger the security and stability of both the West and Russia. 

The US and Russia should thus defend and support Armenia’s resistance to the genocidal crimes committed by Turkey and Azerbaijan. They should stop the implementers of this imperialistic Turkist project which would recreate Central Asia as a “Turkic empire” by eliminating Armenia and turning it into a non-sovereign, Turkic province.

On April 24, 1915, approximately 250 leading intellectuals of Constantinople's Armenian community -- amongst them political leaders, journalists, and religious leaders -- were arrested by Turkish officials. They were then slain. This event marked the beginning of the 1915 Armenian genocide.

By 1923, Turkish policies of deportation and annihilation resulted in the deaths of around 1.5 million Armenian men, women, and children.

Today, 108 years later, Azerbaijan (and Turkey) are committing the same crime against the Armenians of Artsakh and intend to complete the genocide in the Republic of Armenia.

Following its illegal siege, bombardments and invasion of Artsakh, the government of Azerbaijan arrested these Armenian leaders:

BREAKING: Today, Azerbaijan arrested two former presidents of the Artsakh Republic: Bako Sahakyan, Arkadi Ghukasyan, and Speaker of Artsakh Parliament Davit Ishkhanyan.

Arkadi Ghukasyan served as the president of the Republic of Artsakh from 1997 to 2007, followed by Bako Sahakyan, who held the presidency from 2007 to 2020. Davit Ishkhanyan was elected Speaker of the parliament in August 2023.

At this moment, it is known that Azerbaijan's NSS has unlawfully detained seven Armenian citizens, preventing them from being displaced to Armenia. The detained individuals are Ruben Vardanyan, Davit Manukyan, Levon Mnatsakanyan, Davit Babayan, Bako Sahakyan, Arkadi Ghukasyan and Davit Ishkhanyan.

BREAKING: The Armenian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that one soldier was killed and two others were wounded during an attack by Azerbaijan earlier today in Kut, Gegharkunik.

Serviceman Aram Kocharyan gave his life defending our homeland.

The lives of the two wounded servicemen are not in danger and they have been safely transported to a military hospital.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense has also confirmed that Azerbaijan continued to fire at ambulances that arrived to help the wounded, a gross violation of international humanitarian law.

Earlier today, the Armenian Ministry of Defense reported that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces once again launched an attack on Armenia, specifically targeting a vehicle transporting food for personnel stationed at Armenian outposts.
