@LilaGraceRose When God was speaking of the death penalty he clearly also meant “oh but not for America”… he just didn’t right that part down… this level of cognitive dissonance is unbelievable.
@brady_penfield Submit to Christ.
It blows my mind Catholicism still exists in the modern world where the history of the RCC is no longer hidden. True deception of Satan.
You seem to not understand.
Does the Bible teach conflicting Gospels? You seem to think it does because of human error.
The fact that humans including Catholics have added to the what the Bible says does not negate what the Bible speaks as truth. Sure a Baptist might have a disagreement with a Presbyterian on certain secondary issues, but again that isn’t an issue with the Bible itself.
Again, if you find that the Bible is confusing for you to understand therefore you need an interpreter (which you will also have to interpret) thats not an issue with the Bible (aka Gods word)
Catholic Church in Brazil aligned itself with the commies due to the social policies pushed by Lula’s workers party (PL). You had bishops of the Catholic Church making false claims and acting openly hostile against Bolsonaro during his presidency.
This has nothing to do with evangelical Christians.
“Here we close our commentaries on the historical books of the Old Testament. For the rest (that is, Judith, Tobit, and the books of Maccabees) are counted by St Jerome out of the canonical books, and are placed amongst the Apocrypha, along with Wisdom and Ecclesiasticus… these books… are not canonical, that is, not in the nature of a rule for confirming matters of faith. Yet they may be called canonical… for the edification of the faithful… the words as well of councils as of doctors are to be reduced to the correction of Jerome.”
You understand this goes against all historic teaching on purgatory prior to modern history, yes?
It’s the same claim people like Trent Horn have made in debates “purgatory could be effectively immediate”
Unfortunately this is a modern invention. You have to deal with the actual teaching of Purgatory, treasury of merit (this is one is a whopper), indulgence abuse etc.
A defensible conservative estimate is 100 million converts since the reformation from Catholic to Protestant. Go look it up.
The Roman Catholic Church as a coherent institution is a medieval church. It is not the church from 33 AD that Christ founded. Just at the council of Trent alone the Modern Roman Catholic Church became something different entirely. And is currently morphing again to something else under liberal Popes.
As for the Gospel and the Bible. Who from the Roman Catholic Church was there to receive the letters from Paul in Galatia and interpret it? How about Corinth, Ephesus, Thesolonica etc? How about Revelation which was sent to all the churches listed?
The church at 325 ad was a predominantly Eastern focused which is why the Bishop of Rome wasn’t even at the Council of Nicea. So how could the Roman Catholic Church that you claim started in 33 ad be the one today? It’s just pure historical myth.
There is no such thing as conflicting biblical teachings… if the Bible is the word of God, to my original question (do you believe this or not?) then there is one true gospel.
The fact that there is “countless churches”, does not negate the fact that there is one gospel message spoken to in the Bible. If your issue that the Bible is to confusing for you to understand therefore you need the Roman Catholic Church to teach you the plain reading of the Bible then by all means believe that.
Your question is full of assumptions, one being it equates “churches disagree” with “Scripture doesn’t clearly spell out the gospel.”
Are you saying that Paul’s epistles are unclear on the gospel message?
@gusmac2@GowingCatholic@WesleyLHuff I can’t answer the question without someone defining the core part of the question. Do you not understand how questions work?
@JMRJAM@WesleyLHuff He is claiming conversions and reasons for conversions from men. Are these men infallible or fallible?
I can give 10 Counter examples of men on the other side with their own reasons.
Do you not see the issue? You keep seeming to not get it.
@JMRJAM@WesleyLHuff Making claims about conversion doesn’t prove what is true. His whole video is appeal to authority which is a fallacious argument. You are then appealing to his video. Which is double fallacious I guess…🤣 Which is pretty ironic.
@GowingCatholic@WesleyLHuff Again. You need to define biblical teaching. Putting it in quotes doesn’t negate you have to define it. It’s part of your question…
Did you read what I said?
1) More Catholics have converted to Protestantism than the other way around. Is their reason less reliable or grounded in truth?
2) conversions do not prove the other is in error. It could mean the human is in error. Someone is in error. You might like the “why” as a Roman Catholic, but that why needs examination.
Appealing to some human authority is a logical fallacy, but Catholics keep doing it….
That’s actually his entire argument. It’s like me saying that “hey look this German Catholic Scholar/Priest named Luther converted because he translated the Bible in the original Greek”
We don’t use conversions as grounds for determining if our theology is correct. That doesn’t determine if the claims are true. We examine the claims themselves.
