Tshabangu's political party is called Interim Sec General. It's got no other members. It's composed of 1 person yet it's so powerful that it has succcessfully recalled 17 MPs from another party & ED acted on its instructions! It should be entered into the Guinness World Records!
It's Time For The Opposition Movement To Confront Enemies Within Who Aid & Abet The Regime At Key Points In The Democratic Struggle!
1. There is now revisionism around Morgan Tsvangirai's name. While he was an opposition leader, it should never be forgotten that there are many current opposition leaders who openly fought against him fiercely, ridiculed him & sought to derail him.
2. Some even called him an "intellectual midget". On paper, their academic & professional credentials were demonstrably far superior to his and yet this never translated into mass grassroots appeal for them.
3. Several opposition leaders went their own way & started their own political parties. While there, there were further splits - which exposed them & showed that Tsvangirai was not the problem. Not that he was perfect - but that they had heaped all blame on him!
4. Some even worked with the regime & a potential pact was even mulled with ZANU PF to try & elect the Speaker of Parliament as a united force against Tsvangirai's then MDCT political party. Maridadi, Stevenson, Thabani Vusa Mpofu, Gutu, Timveos, Chaibva, Qhubani Moyo, Dube, Mwonzora & Khupe are among those who have openly joined the regime.
5. We will explore this later this week but judging by Sleeper Agent Tshabangu's reported "demands", it's clear that a decision has been made to exploit the disgruntlement of some opposition leaders who feel that they have lost power since the MDCA Congress & feel side lined to resurrect their relevance via him & the cause of "Constitutionalism".
6. The shameless power hungry characters are terrified of fully coming out into the open for fear of being labelled traitors as they surely know that it is clear that Tshabangu is working with the regime. A bit more patience should see them coming out of the woodworks in the lead up to the Nomination Court's sitting! One can't hide forever!
7. They clearly don't respect Chamisa & voters. They are not ashamed to ride on his coat tails / mass / popular appeal, despite the flaws which they say he has. They know that without him they would lose relevance overnight.
8. Some of them meet with the regime secretly to plot against him while others desperately, recklessly & maliciously leak sensitive information to openly hostile characters like Jonso, Jojo & others. Many had hoped there would be no favourable SEOM Report which would make their job easier, which is why Jojo was gloating about the pre-election plot to topple Chamisa soon after the elections.
9. In a truly democratic society, it's acceptable to be disdainful towards Chamisa & criticise him for his flaws including the absence of a Constitution. It is the duplicitous behaviour & rank hypocrisy which should be roundly condemned.
10. These are some of the reasons why the opposition has failed to fulfil its potential. Elitists like myself with a sense of entitlement who believe that by virtue of their academic or professional achievements they are superior to voters & to their democratic choice & yet lack the ability to organically connect with the grassroots which is essential to start & sustain their own independent political parties - are restless & given to plotting & conniving with the regime at key points in the democratic struggle!
Mudenda's Partisanship & Tshabangu's Borrowed Robes Laid Bare!
1. He receives the letter of recalls from Tafadzwa Manyika, he remains silent while pretending that he has not received it.
2. The reality is likely to be that he, i.e. Mudenda, sought instructions from the "real" Constitution, the one & only 1st Secretary & President of ZANU PF on the way forward.
3. There was also silence when he received correspondence from @nelsonchamisa, the leader of @CCCZimbabwe, who is also a fellow Lawyer / Advocate and thus colleague of Mudenda from a Professional Conduct & Ethics point of view (via the Law Society of Zimbabwe).
4. Meanwhile, predictably, there have been no developments following the Police Report filed by CCC against Tshabangu.
5. If you look at these developments in isolation, you will miss what is actually taking place, so I will break it down here.
6. It's not a coincidence that Tafadzwa Manyika's ZANU PF recalls' letter & Chamisa's letters have been ignored by Mudenda while Tshabangu's has been entertained.
7. It's also not a coincidence that there have been no developments in the ZRP Police Report against Tshabangu.
8. The system closes rank in such a situation. All activities which help the state to destroy the opposition are allowed to proceed smoothly & anything which helps the opposition faces inexplicable obstacles (attributable to behind the scenes manoeuvring.)
9. If Mudenda was not partisan, he would have written a courtesy letter to Chamisa / CCC acknowledging his correspondence & stating what his position is. That is what a professional Speaker of Parliament does, or even one good at pretending to be so.
10. He would also do the same in respect of Tafadzwa Manyika's letter as he would be desperate to show that Parliament is not partisan & there was a compelling reason why it is not being actioned given the explanations previously given that he is simply a facilitator.
11. Given the seriousness of the situation, the Police would also have been inclined to give updates on the Report that they received and the way forward.
12. So in this case, the orchestration or choreography is betrayed by the conspiracy of silence & inaction from two different state institutions, the Police & Speaker of Parliament.
13. Tshabangu will use terror to seek submission from any CCC MPs who are desperate for trinkets. It's from those potential submissions that he will seek to profit & then manufacture non-existent legitimacy.
14. He has thus far sought to deceive those who are naive into believing that he is raising genuine grievances which have got resonance through exploiting existing fault lines in CCC such as the claimed imposition of candidates, divisions amongst leaders and the claimed absence of structures & a Constitution.
15. By now it should be public knowledge that Tshabangu is the regime's proxy. The regime will facilitate each & every move he makes while thwarting each response CCC will seek to make including via the Judiciary.
16. There is no credible attempt at reforming CCC by a genuine member which takes the course of making choices which only benefit ZANU PF & the regime while destroying CCC. That is another red flag!
17. By now it is clear that Tshabangu can only be defeated through closing ranks amongst the CCC Parliamentary & Local Government cohort and a long overdue political response to the electoral heist. Any division will be ruthlessly exploited.
16. The concern is that the responses that have been given so far by Prof Welshman Ncube & Tendai Biti to the saga have been underwhelming and not inspired any confidence that they have got fire in their bellies to defend CCC to the hilt.
17. Given the threat posed by Tshabangu, you would have thought that they would have come out all guns blazing and shown more vigour in either disowning or exposing Tshabangu and defending CCC & Chamisa. There is really no point in appearing to back Chamisa & then deliver unconvincing responses in deeds & words when asked about this.
18. To simply state that "this has got nothing to do with me" is lamentably weak and prone to setting the proverbial cat among pigeons. Both responses clearly stand out to the politically discerning. Only time will tell whether they are simply lapses in political judgment or there is more to it. Either way, it would appear that their political fates are likely to have been sealed, barring the unexpected.
@zenzele In 2018, a Gandhi statue was removed from a university campus in Ghana. Activists there and in Malawi started #GandhiMustFall hashtag over his early racist writings.
@deejaaaym@advocatemahere I'm sure this is a corrupted version of Flexner's “medical patriotism,” defined as the regard for the honour of the profession & sense of responsibility for its efficiency, enabling professionals to rise above the consideration of personal or professional gain.
Jacob Mudenda is ED's political hangman at Parliament. He abuses his position as the Speaker to wreak havoc on any opposition political party which poses a credible threat to the regime. He's a hatchet man & effectively a political activist!
@bongwe_ncube@NewsHawksLive Just because you say he's not a lawyer doesn't mean a damn thing. Your whole clan, including cats and dogs couldn't fill half his resume. Not even on a good day😊
Why Defying ED Is A Generational Duty ... And The Right Thing To Do Too!
1. I am gobsmacked that it could really ever have been considered politically feasible for @CCCZimbabwe's MPs to attend ED's SONA when his legitimacy is still a live issue & he continues to ratchet up repression with reckless abandon.
2. On what objective grounds would it have been justifiable? Why does it appear as if there is a conspiracy to stampede the opposition into embracing normalcy in an environment where there has been brazen electoral theft?
3. Does commanding & controlling levers of state power necessarily translate into garnering legitimacy on that account alone? It is sufficient to cure illegitimacy via brute force? The answer is an emphatic no!
4. I am also at a loss as to (no pun intended), how the opposition can be deemed to have "lost" when there is clear evidence of cheating by external & objective bodies via Reports which ZANU PF & ED are still to address on their merits via regional protocols?
5. More than a month after the elections, there is no credible report of ZANU PF & ED having submitted a rebuttal response to @SADC_News following the damning SEOM Report that serial political opportunists like @ProfJNMoyo are desperately trying to shunt down the drain.
6. As far as I am concerned, the only legitimate criticism that could be made towards the opposition is the potential loss of momentum over holding ED to account for the sham election.
7. Political actors who behave in such a brazen fashion & ride roughshod over sacred, fundamental & non-negotiable & inviolable rights which bind society together should always be held to account no matter the cost & how long it takes. It's either that or society is lost for good! These are ideals & clear red lines we should all be prepared to live & die for!
8. Whether he is 81 or 86, ED cannot be the future. His moment in the sun has now come & gone. The attempt at reinventing himself politically & masquerading as a reformist has collapsed spectacularly.
9. The obsession with power meant that his mask was always bound to slip when his grip on power was threatened to confirm what had always been an open secret - that ED & Bob are one & the same person & the whole edifice on which the 2nd Republic was built on was an elaborate hoax / subterfuge!
10. The future is tantalisingly close but very few are able to visualise it or fight for it. There is no any other home. This is it. No one is born with a party symbol stamped over their head. The only intrinsic feature at that point is our nationality. It is one we should always guard jealously & fiercely, including & especially when its clear that so-called nationalists have gone rogue & are literally stealing & frittering our future away! When that happens, partisanship & division should end as focus should then be trained on eradicating the scourge / bane of our lives!
Choreographed Attempted Recalls & Of @CCCZimbabwe MPs A Stealth / Backdoor Of Destroying CCC & Impeaching Presidential Term Limits
We are now revisiting the state engineered circus we last saw in 2019 via the regime's Khupe & Mwonzora pet projects where the Judiciary & Parliament were used as a political guillotine.
As the regime is impervious to feeling shameful, it is returning to another nibble using what it considers it's tried & tasted formula.
The resurrection of this much despised strategy can only be to collapse CCC as a party while simultaneously decapitating it's parliamentary two-thirds filibuster against tempering with the Constitution to remove Presidential Term limits so that vene vatapa can now reign forever in their minds!
Why Boycotting ED's Official Opening Of Parliament Was Politically Palatable!
a. My brother, the starting premise is that @CCCZimbabwe, @nelsonchamisa and millions of non-affiliated Zimbos regard ED's election & the gvt that he represents as illegitimate.
b. My understanding is that CCC MPs are in Parliament not because they want to but because they have to.
c. As a political entity that is fighting an entrenched dictatorship peacefully, there are only very few options they have to oppose the regime effectively without encountering physical harm or incarceration from the regime - one of which is peaceful protests.
d. Snubbing ED's charade where he was flanked by his wife delivered a powerful rebuke within the context of political symbolism & challenging legitimacy.
e. Because of the nature of the event and how high profile it was, the snub naturally garnered huge attention & ensured that the running theme of illegitimacy continues to generate national & international headlines - thus staying on the front page & retaining prominence & relevancy.
f. There can be no doubt that such an approach resonates with the political constituency of @CCCZimbabwe who are still nursing deep wounds from the sham election - while maintaining morale & signalling that the battle still rages on. Attendance would have been devastating, confusing & amounted to political suicide. They would have been open to charges of contradictions, hypocrisy, acquiescence & capitulation!
g. In instances such as these, where the scale of injustice is beyond comprehension, the importance of defiance cannot be overstated in the wider goal of disrupting, dismantling & defeating tyranny, which is never a short term project. Political protests are a political imperative in such a context.
h. Defiance is a currency that is always worth it when challenging despotic regimes. It being the first official encounter between ED & @CCCZimbabwe MPs, with that background of stolen elections, one can argue that it was the only rational choice & form of protest that was open to them.
i. In fact, there is cause to argue that it is revolting that they were thrust into that invidious situation & their political choice is even being questioned. Such questions are tantamount to an aberration.
j. If any ire or questions should be directed towards anyone at this moment in time, it should be ED & his despotic regime. In fact, there is a powerful moral & political argument to be had about permitting ED to grace such an occasion at all without repercussions given his casual & brazen disregard of democratic norms & ethos by SADC, Zimbabweans in their generality & @CCCZimbabwe more specifically.
k. It is an error of judgment to think that ED could ever be pacified. This is clearly an unrelenting battle of attrition pursuant to zero sum game politics which is focused on total decimation / annihilation of the opposition.
l. ED uses a plethora of tools to carry out his destructive agenda. He can deploy the gloved fist led by his hound dogs, kompromat, infiltration & the proverbial tortoise on a lamppost. He is the king of hybrid / asymmetrical warfare.
m. There is no objective basis for concluding that the absence of a protest would have yielded a different outcome. As things stand, ED is simply decimating the opposition movement by picking & choosing his targets surgically, almost akin to a bird of prey / raptor mercilessly plucking feathers from its victim prior to devouring it.
n. We are dealing with a continuum. ED simply won't stop unless all his victims gather enough courage to challenge him in sufficient numbers & in a sustained manner.
p. I remain perturbed by what appears to be the stealth like eagerness with which you seem to be pushing for a state of affairs which sees the opposition feebly giving in and accepting the situation as it is.
q. Such an approach would simply defer the current political gridlock to 2028 while rewarding brazen electoral theft.
r. I am taken aback by the specific examples you cite as being open to the regime to escalate the situation or as reprisals - such as docking allowances or visiting the Political Parties Finance Act. I am unable to rationalise why it was felt necessary to cite certain examples as opposed to general conclusions on the matter.
s. This is particularly so as it is something that @ProfJNMoyo has done in the past (and I am sure you are aware of it). The regime never misses an opportunity to feast on such low hanging fruits.
t. It is difficult to accept that you would have been that naive or reckless as to overlook such a risk given how desperate & vindictive the regime is.
u. As we have all seen today, true to form, the Min of Justice has been reported to be considering that very punitive sanction.
v. There is simply no scope for the opposition to worry about the trinkets that come from Parliament or party funding from the regime.
w. In such a hostile political terrain, the biggest concern has to be political survival while continuing to make strides at chipping away at the regime's legitimacy.
x. If there ever remained any lingering doubts that the opposition needed to up the ante in challenging ED, politically and diplomatically, they should now all evaporate.
z. The latest charade around Parliamentary recalls today suggests that ED is exploring doing away with Presidential term limits. This is not a response to yesterday's events, it's an acceleration of a pre-existing agenda of extending the reign of vene vatapa by all means necessary!
@ChrisMaroleng@MukayaBingo@GGA_org The challenge you have on that subject is finding those prepared to have an honest debate as imperialism is now almost exclusively used as a red herring while being pro-Russia & China is now being conflated with Pan-Africanism. The debate is very rarely rounded!
