She made them sign a contract.. if BOTH graduate, she hands you both $500. One fails, nobody gets paid.

In 1989 she offered $500 to every kid in the county who wanted to go to the local college.

When Gatlinburg burned in 2016, she sent 900 families $1,000 a month for six months.

She played a benefit concert in 2007, Dollywood and the Stampede matched it, and LeConte Medical Center opened in 2010 with a birthing unit and a women's center in it.

In 2022 she started covering 100% of tuition, books, and fees for Dollywood employees.

Full-time, part-time, AND seasonal.

In 1991 she paid for a bald eagle sanctuary because the birds couldn't be released back into the wild, no press release.

And when Hurricane Helene came through here in Western North Carolina, she wrote a personal check for $1 million and her companies matched it.

She didn't owe North Carolina anything, but she helped us anyway.

She started the Imagination Library because her daddy couldn't read or write. Before he passed, he told her it was the most important thing she ever did.

Frédéric Bastiat’s short masterpiece The Law (1850) is one of the most powerful defences of liberty ever written. In it, Bastiat argues that the sole legitimate purpose of law is to protect the natural rights of every individual to life, liberty and property. Law, properly understood, is simply “the organization of the natural right of lawful defence”.
Yet Bastiat saw a fatal perversion: when the law goes beyond this protective role and begins to plunder some citizens to benefit others, it becomes an instrument of legalized theft. He called this “legal plunder". Once government uses force to redistribute wealth, regulate speech, impose “charity” or enforce equality of outcome, the law no longer defends rights; it violates them.
Bastiat warned that every special-interest group then competes to capture the state for its own advantage - workers against employers, farmers against consumers, one region against another - turning politics into organized predation. The result is endless conflict, moral decay, and the slow destruction of liberty.
In clear, elegant prose, Bastiat showed that true justice requires a limited law that restrains plunder, not one that organizes it. When the law is perverted, freedom dies under the guise of the common good.

Any Christian who grew up in the scriptures, reading and studying the stories of the Old Testament, the patriarchs, the sin and failure of the Israelites and God’s mercy and forgiveness and faithfulness to them, will feel a kinship with the people of Israel.

Their story is our story. Their struggle with sin is ours. Their heritage, by God’s grace, is our heritage. When you see how God preserved them through war, captivity, exile, persecution, idolatry, and even rejection of Yeshua, and see how He’s preserving them still today, we realize God still has a future plan to bring them back, as promised in Romans 11.

If He can preserve them, he can preserve you. If He can save you, he can save them. I don’t see how a Christian can look at the Jewish people with anything other than affection, compassion, and humility.

“His blood be upon us, and our children,” spoken as a curse, will end as a blessing when one day the remnant of Israel is covered and redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

We respond like Paul did: “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor? Or who has ever first given to Him, and has to be repaid? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”

I was one of the people disagreeing online. I’m a nobody. I was not paid. I was not part of an op. I’m just a normal conservative American who thinks granting legitimacy and cash to a terrorist death cult sworn to kill us is a bad idea.
