I asked one of our lovely volunteers at the Bunker if he could make my Mosquito pin badge into a pendant because I couldn’t find a Mossie necklace anywhere - l am one happy girly today
Earlier today at the @BofBBunker, our Trustee @BeaverWestminst & @ph0ebestyle took the stage to explore “The Best Fighters of the Battle of Britain.”
They shared insights on the aircraft that shaped the battle, revealed some surprising facts, and busted a few myths along the way
The Farage schoolboy racism is shocking. I was at a similar school at a similar time, and I don't remember anything as bad as what his fellow pupils recall. There was – still inexcusable – 'drawing room racism', but nothing so vile. And yes, it matters. https://t.co/hT3Pyvftv3

Whilst I was at @WeHaveWaysPod Festival I learnt @BofBBunker where women were in involved in war efforts. Based in Uxbridge the bunker is the original war bunker for the Second world war. Sep 1940 Winston Churchill visited and you can visit too to learn this history #ww2

85 years ago today, Flt Lt James Nicolson was awarded a VC for an action over Southampton. In 1979, I tracked down his widow and ‘rescued’ the tattered uniform & Mae West he was wearing on 16 Aug 1940 just before she was going to burn it! Today it resides at @MuseumTangmere
It’s VJ Day today.
Rejoice!
We celebrate not just for the victory, but because of the peace it brought.
In fact, the Allues fought the war for peace. This is the greatest thing we should remember today. They didn’t fight to conquer or destroy. They fought to bring an egregious war to an end.
The suggestion that the way in which the Allies forced the war to a denouement was wrong, is morally perverse. War’s moral purpose was to defeat an aggrandising tyranny, rescue Japan from militarism, free its victims - millions in East Asia - from slavery, and secure a lasting peace.
