@Martyupnorth And they wonder why Alberta is having a referendum on separation. Government overreach is much more of a problem than transfer payments for people, imo.
@CedarAndHoney Its hard to agree with this view unless you are getting paid by the government in some way: gov employee, CPP, EI, OAS, grants, etc. If you are benefiting, absolutely, keep voting for them as it is in your best interest.
@alexrmead@paulg First you have to decide if this is a joke. If you conclude it isn't a joke then you must assume that PG mean a positive return. If you assume a positive return you must conclude that the GPUs are a capital cost.
@karpathy >> but don't do this in prod!
I don't understand how we get more than a 20% productivity boost on real code bases when bottlenecked by human comprehension.
Of course, productivity increases for speedruns and prototypes is easily 100X even today.
@KirkLubimov Canada needs to start somewhere. Do something dramatic. Delete the gov general position, stop the equalization payments. Remove the speaker of the house and stupid question period rules. No, of course we have to just keep doing the same failing things until the country dies.
@elonmusk I'm not Japanese, but I think what they are doing is right. Seriously, what is wrong with a Japan that has mostly Japanese people by race and culture. Its fine to have the odd white expat bro but don't make this 30% of the population. In the west though, culture is key not race.
