@curecc 2nd Houston Symposium has wrapped and I loved every minute of it! It was an honor to discuss clinical trials with 2 very dedicated research nurses. Congrats to @docsudhakodali1 and @JavleMilind for organizing another great day of learning for our CCA community 💚

An impactful day at the 2026 New York Regional Symposium with @nyulangone, bringing together research, care, and community—strengthened by patient perspectives that remind us why this work matters. 💚
We could not do this work without the incredible support of our partners. We are so grateful! Thank you, @AstraZeneca, @Incyte, @JazzPharma, @Merck, @NateraGenetics, @PartnerTx, and @Servier!
This season, we’re especially grateful for our CholangioConnect mentors—patients and caregivers who generously share their time, insight, and lived experience with others facing cholangiocarcinoma. Their willingness to support others is a true gift to our community and a reminder that no one has to navigate this disease alone.
If you’re on this journey, consider connecting with a mentor who truly understands.

Life shines brightly not because we are rich, beautiful or powerful. Instead, it shines when we discover within ourselves the truth that we are called by God, have a vocation, have a mission, that our lives serve something greater than ourselves.

🔬 Routine prenatal blood tests may reveal more than you expect. For Sara Teichholtz, a test meant to check her baby’s health led to an unexpected cholangiocarcinoma diagnosis. Thanks to early detection through the test, she received timely treatment and is now NED.
This story highlights the potential of innovative testing to catch cholangiocarcinoma earlier, giving hope that more people in our community could benefit from timely detection and care.
This story underscores one powerful message: innovative research and early detection strategies can make a difference. We invite you to read more and share so that others know why this kind of progress matters.

A recent publication, including Drs. Caitlin Conboy, Jennifer Tomlinson, and Dong Gi Mun, was published in Hepatology. Their participation was partially funded by CCF Research Fellowships: The Andrea Lynn Scott Memorial Research Fellowship, the Quack Out Cholangio 5k Research Fellowship Grant, which honors Bill Hayes and Al Lemieux, and the Patient Champion Research Fellowship.
Key findings include:
Identification of subtypes that are not linked to where the cancer began in the bile ducts, but do correlate with how long patients lived after surgery and how they responded to treatment.
Identification of a new potential drug target called TNK1, which was highly active in the metabolic subtype. In laboratory models, blocking TNK1 with an experimental drug (TP-5801) dramatically slowed tumor growth in that subtype but not in others—showing the promise of more precise, personalized treatment.
Finding that tumors in the immunomodulatory subtype responded best to standard chemotherapy (gemcitabine and cisplatin). This contributes valuable knowledge to our understanding of the disease.
