(3/3) Prescribing mixed insulin? These are a rapid & long acting insulin hanging out together in one mixture. Due to rapid bit in there you need to give with a meal. If patient says they take morning and evening they DON’T mean at bedtime. #InsulinSafetyWeek2022

Prescribing a rapid acting insulin? You’re going to want to coincide with meals cos that baby will work quickly. Giving at bedtime will cause a hypo.
Prescribing a long acting insulin? This guy is slow and steady. Timing doesn’t matter but keep the time fixed each day
