@biilmann Jesus how time flies man. Still using Netlify so many years later. You're company still kicks ass and I'm just happy I've been along for the ride.
Apologies, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic today mate. 😞
We signed the Open Weights and American Leadership letter.
More thoughts in my blogpost below in the thread, but openness have always been a core ethos at Netlify and we believe the Western World wins through openness and freedom.

@RockChartrand And gee where don't we have competition: Health Care, Education, and Housing - three things putting the "affordability" issue at the top of people's minds and three things controlled by the government.
@RockChartrand Democrats when gas prices went up? "Its a global issue, we can't control it."
Democrats when gas prices go down? "Look! Our policies are working to make your life affordable!"
You will never win with these people man.
@chadfelixg Worked at a food shelf at our local church. Majority of people who took stuff clearly did not need it. I quit after a month. People would ask me to load their new Escalade. People complaining that shaving cream/soap wasn't good enough.
Made me so fucking jaded about it.
In college I worked on a project to plant a vegetable garden for students to browse as needed on campus.
End hunger.
Encourage healthy eating.
What little grew was taken in bulk by a few people, mostly non-students. Someone would just show up and pick everything they could carry and leave.
At my synagogue I volunteered for multiple free food, clothing and donation events.
Anyone could come in and get what they needed.
One couple came in and just started hauling things to their car. Armloads of clothes and books and food items.
The people who might have really needed it were too embarrassed to come in. I had to convince an older woman it was OK to take a few cans of food and a sweater she liked.
It had to be turned into a small fee event. $5 for all you can carry in a paper bag or something.
The college garden was abandoned after multiple tries largely because people kept destroying it at night.
I worked for a charity that offered free cooking courses with a box of vegetables at the end and no one came. The shelter residents wouldn't participate. The recovery patients wouldn't participate. The lower income benefits recipients wouldn't participate.
I've worked on multiple free food box campaigns for vulnerable communities. Identify families or individuals and mail them boxes of meal prep foods. Most of the boxes were tossed out. No one wanted fresh vegetables. They wanted free bags of chips and mac n cheese. We asked for feedback and that's what they told us. They didn't like 'healthy,' foods.
All this to say, there are plenty of people in need and an abundance of resources that could be used.
I have just never seen a 'free,' system work. Not once. It is always abused into oblivion.
@OfMikeAndMen "You will own nothing and like it."
The fact they're going after physical books should be concerning. This is right out of a dystopian novel except instead of burning books, they're getting rid of the originals.
I'm not cool with this at all
@eericmyers@garyboomer58 Pick any city in Florida. Filter by Condo or Townhome. There's literally dozens of them that are well under 100K. If you can't afford a $500 mortgage payment, what are you going with your life bro?
@MrSlickJournal@AffordAnything I've seen this movie before - except it was in the Soviet Union during the 1980's. Shit didn't work then either did it? No, no it did not.
@EramDefender@EEverlove461@PossiblyGwen Clearly you have no knowledge of crocs anatomy or prehistoric bodies that have enabled them to live/survive for millions of years.
Here's a bit of information for you mate. Might want zero in one the "ARMOR PLATED HEADS" part:
@Dialoguealways@StanSampson@YourAnonNews You do realize that EV's have been made since the 1970's. Thinking the govt is protecting Tesla is pretty fucking hilarious.
I guess he was so protected they didn't invite him to the EV summit.🤣😂🤣

America is wrong about everything except Fahrenheit. Fahrenheit is the correct way to measure temperature. Fahrenheit is like "man, it's so hot out. It’s gotta be like......100 hots."
@PresidentDylan@stelzner_n1150 He's evil because he supports common sense? He was the darling of the left as a savior of the planet. Dude switched parties and you people suddenly broke out your tiki torches and pitchforks?
Says more about you than it does him bro.
@Michael_Druggan FYI, people in 1971 didn't need:
- an $800 smartphone to be able to function in society
- a $1,200 laptop to do their homework or work
- to pay $180/month for internet access
- 6 different streaming subscriptions @ $200/month just to watch tv
Life was WAY easier in 1971 pal.
