The American publication reports that in 2018, a group of Russians was able to donate money to Johnson's election campaign in Louisiana, which he ended up winning, because the money went through the Texas company American Ethane.

Although American Ethane was co-founded by the American John Houtling, at that time it was 88% owned by three citizens of the aggressor country: Konstantin Nikolaev, Mykhailo Yuriev and Andrii Kunatbaev. Nikolaev is known as a high-ranking ally of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He is also a co-owner of the Tula Ammunition Plant, which supplied ammunition for Russian troops during the invasion of Ukraine.

It will be recalled that the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, continues to ignore the calls of the White House to bring to a vote the Senate bill that provides aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
