@eatbees @Sturgeons_Law And most people should be held to a higher standard than a lion. When you're a toddler, we understand and forgive you for eg being bad at sharing. But as an adult, it doesn't matter whether something is in your nature. You're expected to comport yourself a certain way regardless.

@eatbees @Sturgeons_Law Common misconception, I see students flub this all the time. But evolution absolutely does not optimize. What gets selected for is that which is sufficient, not what is optimal.

So yeah, we can eat meat for sustenance, but that doesn't mean it's the optimal choice.
