I spent three days with Khaled Khalifa in Zurich and got to write a profile about him with some bits about his newest novel in English translation, translated by @Lerivp for @fsgbooks@lithub.

I'm going to embarrass my dear friend and @bulaqbooks co-host @arablit by wishing her happy b-day on here. One of the most hard-working, generous, and smart people I know.
Why did Mahmud Darwish call Palestine “the Andalus of the possible”? If you’d like to know, check out my new book “On Earth or in Poems: The Many Lives of al-Andalus”: https://t.co/n9v3uVAPwo
I still can’t get over the 80mil EUR promised to Egypt for border management as the Sudan crisis rages. They don’t see the Sudanese, or any refugee, for that matter, as people deserving of protection but as threats that need to be stopped from reaching their shores. Disgusting.
Coming tomorrow, reflections from co-editor Margaret Litvin & excerpts from RUSSIAN-ARAB WORLDS, with thanks to @OxUniPress. Also details on the Berlin book launch @ EUME the afternoon of June 30.
The first copies of my book, “On Earth or in Poems,” have just arrived, and I’m over the moon. The official publication date is May 16, but the book is available for pre-order now: https://t.co/n9v3uVAPwo.
Extremely excited for this new offering from MEL: a rigorous and creative new reading of al-Shidyaq's Leg over Leg by Phoebe Bay Carter
