Pavlov shouldn’t have used dogs for his bell experiment. He should have used medical students during steeplechase — just ring a bell and watch the anxiety, tachycardia, and reflex movements 😭
American College of Physicians (ACP) got it right.
This policy is not about keeping new people out. It is tearing apart the lives of physicians who are already here, already licensed, and already caring for American patients.
Many of these doctors have spent 5 to 15 years in the United States. They trained here, paid taxes here, served rural and underserved communities, saved lives, and built their families and futures here. America invested heavily in their training so they could care for patients in need, and they honored that investment through years of service.
They followed the law in good faith. They trusted the system. And now they are being told that none of it matters, not because they lacked merit, not because they did anything wrong, and not because of any individual review, but simply because of the country where they were born.
That is not merely unfair. It is inhumane and cruel.
And the harm does not end with the physicians. Patients lose trusted doctors. Hospitals lose highly trained staff. Rural and underserved communities lose clinicians they cannot easily replace.
ACP is right. This is not just an immigration issue. It is a human tragedy and a patient care crisis unfolding in plain sight. A physician exception is urgently needed now, before more doctors are forced out of care and more patients are abandoned in the middle of treatment.

Chuck Norris didn't join the Marine Corps...the Marine Corps applied to him.
Heaven’s streets have always been guarded by Marines. Today, Chuck Norris reported for duty.
We mourn the passing of Chuck Norris, a @usairforce veteran, who also became an honorary Marine in 2007 when awarded the title by then Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. James T. Conway.
Chuck Norris is one of just over 100 individuals to be awarded the title of Honorary Marine in the entire 250-year history of the Corps.
Some missions may require a battalion, but this one just requires an Honorary Marine.
