It’s amazing- every insurance I’ve ever had, I could choose my agent. Apparently @Allstate changed the game. I was told the other day “You’re not allowed to choose your own agent, you get assigned one from the pool”. Say what?!

Quitting nursing means starting another new career late in life- but the decision came with such a sense of relief that I can’t deny it’s the right thing for me anymore. It’s no longer a passion. I’m beyond burnt out. It’s time for a change

One thing I’ve been learning (often the hard way) is that when your identity is too closely tied to your career, decisions about changing course can feel like decisions about who you are, which can be pretty overwhelming and terrifying.

I'm trying to understand academics, so if a journal publishes your research, you pay them $1,000. Then they make more money by selling your research, but instead of giving you back some money, you get prestige points & if you get enough prestige points, you get to keep your job?
