@DrNeenaJha The Tories have orchestrated it so that the NHS will fail. We will become angry. They will dismantle the service in pieces, promising to make it better, but in reality they will make doctors only readily accessible to the wealthy. The gap between rich and poor ever wider.
@DrNeenaJha A friend of mine has just found out she has metastatic breast cancer. Itβs in her liver, her bones. Sheβs a single mum to a 7 year old with no living relatives. She was turned away multiple times before finally being admitted almost a year later. Now thereβs no time left.
@RobertMorrisse3 But if itβs from people outside Education, including government, LA and Ofstedβ¦ 100% agree. Walk a mile before casting judgements. It very much feels right now that weβre the ones in the thick of the pandemic and thatβs a huge weight to bear.
@RobertMorrisse3 Depends who the tweets are from. If theyβre from the people the leaders are managing, perhaps there needs to be a space for discussion. Because what Iβm seeing is teachers burning out and handing in resignations without even broaching the topic with SLT first.
Really important that heads tell staff not to send any work related emails during half term unless absolutely urgent. Taking staff wellbeing and mental health seriously means more than a cupcake.
@RDayysj Massive push for the fire and rehire method of saving money in schools. Was always going to happen when they started making schools businesses with academies etc. Itβs incredibly sad as I know so many older teachers who were pushed out through very mentally damaging methods.
@MsJoBillington Now that heβs moved to a school with less demands on the funding, the school have done so much for him in the short time heβs been there - weβre finally getting a referral, he has emotional support sessions, adjustments in class - and itβs all because he has access to funding now
@MsJoBillington In a way, yes. I had to move my son from an oversubscribed urban school to a small village school in order for him to have any kind of access to support, as in his last school there so many more children with greater needs, or at least they didnβt mask as well as my son does 1/2
@HelanaDarwin I have. It was absolutely the right decision for my mental and physical health, but it has made me less employable now and I have to suck it up and take a few steps back, career wise.
@2Jellybean40@autcareandshare Iβm so sorry, that sounds so difficult for you both. My son is only eight and I already see that internalised self-hatred just for being different. Bullies and inflexible schooling have a lot to answer for. Give him all the love you can in all the ways he allows. Xx
@Ms__TeacherLady Sorry to hear that. Fellow endo sufferer here. There are ways of coping, and I was blessed to have two beautiful boys so there is hope in that department. I recommend the coil, it stopped my periods almost completely, just had it removed and Iβm on my knees in agony again π
