@imgrund @DrJacobsRad Ryan, isn't Toronto's community prevalence rate like 0.12%? I know its positivity rate is around 5%, but that's the % of symptomatic people who test positive. The school study was a voluntary sample of non-symptomatic school population. Should be a prevalence <1%, right?

@imgrund @Sflecce Edmonton is considered "on fire" right now with a prevalence of ~350/100k, but ~1500/100k in T.O. schools is "pretty good."

So, the cause of death would be the heart attack or aneurysm, but it was brought on by COVID. I find it hard to believe that a cellular disease like cancer would not be exasperated by a vascular disease like COVID.

If their kids weren't in a building with hundreds of other kids for 6+ hours a day leading up to Christmas it might reduce thr spread at any Christmas gatherings.

@imgrund @tdsb @TCDSB So, at best, cheerleaders of the province's back-to-school plan could say students in schools are getting infected at roughly the same rate as the rest of the population. Which is not great, IMO.

@imgrund I did some rough math, and if you look at the % of students actually in @TDSB and @TCDSB school buildings who have tested +ve it's about 0.07%. Which doesn't sound bad, but during the same, 0.067% of the rest of the population of Toronto has tested +ve.

@awsurgenor @danbrotherston @CityCynthia Here's a zoomed-in shot of hospitalization data from @jkwan_md. COVID-19 patients in hospitals in Ontario have tripled in the last 14 days. Based on current case growth, we're on our way to over 600 hospitalizations in the coming weeks and a % of those will die.
