Quality , safety compliance senior manager for Humber Teaching FT proud midwife working with a fantastic team improving patient safety all my views are my own
Flexibility and creativity around shift patterns have the potential to retain midwives and MSWs within the NHS. We want the next government to commit to flexible working patterns to help our members to balance their lives better https://t.co/1Kf3xKvrct

Dear @RishiSunak
I am so sorry you had a Sky deprived childhood.
I was born in 1950, so i didnt have it either.
But
I did have:
School milk
Free vitamins & orange juice
Council houses
Maternity homes
Cottage hospitals
GP home visits
No child today has this!
Too many students are weighed down by unacceptable levels of student debt. This must be forgiven for those committed to working in the NHS. See the work we're doing towards ensuring the next government builds a profession that's fit for the future: https://t.co/juCF4ZXXjX

1/4 An update on some important next steps in relation to the Review's activities. To ensure that all aspects of maternity services provision are fully considered, we are now starting to focus on antenatal care.
I truly believe we need to accept there is a systemic problem at the heart of maternity provision in this country. The ‘low risk’ pathway where in reality the focus is often ‘guarding normality’, often at the expense of safety. low risk’ / ‘high risk’ is an artificial divide - in reality there is ‘some risk’ with all childbirth and safe care requires a culture of risk awareness, vigilance, listening to women and ultimately, close multi-professional teamwork - no matter the birth setting.
