Babies dying in the very hospital meant to keep them alive. How much more evidence do we need that something has gone catastrophically wrong? This is what a failed state looks like. So yes, perhaps the one thing they’ve got right is their own declaration- the system HAS collapsed. And perhaps the most frightening part is that no one seems capable, or willing to fix it.

There is no physical pain greater than bringing a child into the world. A mother surrenders her entire body and endures extreme agony just to deliver life. To go through all of that, to survive the hardest moment of your life only to have your newborn killed by administrative neglect hours later, is an impossible, soul-crushing nightmare.

Our hearts bleed for the innocent lives lost to the sheer negligence at PIMS. Our deepest condolences go out to the grieving families, and may ruin fall upon every single person responsible for this tragedy.
