Digital disruptor, enthusiast and promoter of all-sort-digital. Huge fan of blockchain, crypto and decentralized. And the combination: Blockchain+IoT+AI
@LynAldenContact I bet you've seen the IEA's report on minerals in clean energy transitions. An average EV requires 6x more minerals than a conventional car. Supply is completely unprepared. Super-inflation propeller?
@cdixon In our current understanding of commitment computers and win over people in credibility and reliability. I e might want to revisit though and when true super-AI comes on stage
In 2008-09, when the Fed started quantitative easing, I thought that inflation would take off. I was wrong. Instead, velocity - the rate at which money turns over per year - declined, taking away its inflationary sting. Velocity still is falling.
Beste @KLM. Als ik Silver status heb, kan Ik een Light tarief kiezen en een checkin baggage meenemen. Is dat nog steeds het geval? Gaat over een Europese KLM vlucht. Alvast bedankt
@LynAldenContact Hard to say of course but there are more and more signals and they are getting stronger. Something is about to happen (big or small) is my bet
@TuurDemeester@wmiddelkoop I think it's coming faster than you think. And indeed it will be a global shift. Fall of one is accompanied by a rise of another. Power vacuums don't occur. Nothing unusual, part of global history
@TuurDemeester I think many more factors need to be taken into account. Oil price etc. And it all depends how deleveraging will play out. Of course expanding the monetary base can easily lead to devaluation yet it also depends on other factors.
@prestonjbyrne @gwestr No but the opposite is also true. Nothingโs wrong with either. Do whatever you prefer to get the best result. And there is one or the other
@nlw There must be an explanation, perhaps the one we cannot figure out now. There can be only hypothesis, possible explanations or unexpected combinations thereof. One I can think of now is: expectation of significant currency devaluations
@JeanneDeBit Tragedy of commons but I think human nature is much more complex than that (we are still learning). The new innovation is having both sustainability and wealth - a long way ahead of us
If you have good principles that guide you from your values to your day-to-day decisions but you donโt have a systematic way of making sure theyโre regularly applied, theyโre not of much use. (cont.)
I think it is all about the balance between own humbleness and blind spots and egos. We, humans, have both. Opinions matter but these are too often taken too "factual" and interpreted emotionally
The older I get, the less frequently I have an opinion worth expressing. Iโm not getting dumber (well maybe that too), the bar is just high in investing. I follow maybe a hundred assets (crypto + traditional), and rarely have a strong opinion on more than a few, if even that.
@naval What if the healthcare system doesnโt have sufficient capacity to hospitalize those who need to be? Will mortality rate increase? Not unlikely. Not a virologist but building herd immunity might be tricky. I guess we still know too little about it
Online collaboration tools are seeing a huge uptick in adoption right now.
Video, audio and written communication such as documents and messaging are all the keys to remote work.
The one thing to focus on is collaboration.
How you and your team collaborate to get things done.
@nlw Crisis management, positive thinking, motivation (self and others). Industries? I think anything that has to do with the "doing good" for the earth and mankind: clean energy, sharing resources, clean water, wealth distribution, biotech, medicine
