Good to see @ManCityCouncil ticketing the driver of this vehicle who thinks the pavement is ok for him to park on, despite the no loading markings
#Levenshulme
How about just installing bollards here, as unless you do, the men from these businesses will keep on illegally driving on the pavement and using it as their parking space.
It's a daily problem in this area and has been reported for years!
@LevyCllrs@ManCityCouncil@bevcraig
@danielmgmoylan The is 431km of segregated cycle lanes in London.
…and 14,500km of roads.
It’s truly unbelievable that people like Daniel Moylan sit in the House of Lords.
Disgraceful, actually.
A great effort from some local residents trying to clean up the disgusting state of Levenshulme Station car park yesterday👇👏
Sadly, rubbish is already being dumped just ONE day later.
@ManCityCouncil and @MCC_Levenshulme need to get a grip of this area!
It's a shameful mess.
It's great that @AndyBurnhamGM finally announced new step free access for Levenshulme Station, but the whole area surrounding it is a disgrace. Unless the slum landlords, anti-social tenants and disengaged businesses are tackled, it'll still look like a dump and at what cost?
I chatted with some people after we attended the Gorton and Denton hustings in Levenshulme and @GoodwinMJ was slated by everyone. The general opinion was he's slick but slimy, spouts vile political beliefs and had the vibe of a soon to be divorced dad.
Classic GB News fodder.
Levenshulme Station car park today and most days🤮
Years ago @LevyCllrs promised a "cocktail of solutions" to tackle this, yet it continues to be a problem, as do many of the well known dumping grounds in our community. How about using cameras, fines and naming the offenders?
Safe cycling infrastructure changes everything 🚲

For us, the fastest way from A → B is by bike.
Safe lanes don’t just protect, they enable.
Stockport Road, Levenshulme
For years residents have been asking @LevyCllrs@MCC_Levenshulme and @ManCityCouncil to tackle this pavement parking from businesses, with little success. The poorly placed bollards failing to stop vehicles driving on pavements, need fixing.
@bevcraig
Each and every fresh snow reveals how much we’ve over-designed our streets and roads for cars, making them faster and more dangerous, and how much space we could reclaim for people and public life.
We call them sneckdowns.

Thanks to one of our supporters, we'll have t-shirts in 2026!
This is intended to make us more visible at bike fixing events and community events. If you see one of us wearing these out and about, don't hesitate to say hello and have a chat about how we can help change things
We've signed a letter to the Government calling for clear targets in the upcoming Cycling & Walking Investment Strategy 3 with 50+ other groups across the country
The Street With No Name, Levenshulme.
Fly-tipping from or behind Harcourt House is a constant disgrace- there's also a dumped fridge freezer and cookers etc on the grass at the front of the property.
Do @ManCityCouncil@MCC_Levenshulme ever fine these "problem" landlords??
Cars remain the scourge of this part of Stockport Rd. Recently installed as part of Levy Active Travel scheme. Can we make sure it’s repaired as soon as possible? @ManCityCouncil@LevyCllrs@LevyBeelines
Another pavement bollard damaged by a vehicle on Stockport Road, Levenshulme -outside Levenshulme Bakery.
Can @MCC_Levenshulme@ManCityCouncil@LevyCllrs ensure this is repaired asap.
Thanks.
When you have the space for one-way protected bike lanes, put them in. When you don't have the space, make the space.
Not every street needs bike lanes, but busy downtown corridors definitely do.
Can @biffa@LevyCllrs@MCC_Levenshulme or someone from @ManCityCouncil explain why the heaviest fly tipped rubbish bag wasn't removed? It doesn't look like anyone ensures these jobs are done properly when requested. Levenshulme often seems to get the bare minimum - if we're lucky
Here are 10 cyclists taking up the space of approximately one car.
In London, 60% of car trips are single-occupant
Cycle lanes and cyclists don't cause congestion; cars do
