@NESKid85@CrazyRuckusN64@Stealth40k I’m generally the same way, but I’m tired of getting dicked over by Sony. If I have to go all digital, it’s definitely not going to be with them.
@RedGamingTech This is a colossally dumb idea though. Physical media is the only thing left that makes console worth buying, especially given Sony’s abysmal customer service record. I’ve been considering abandoning Plastation for some time. Now it’s a lock.
@partialmean8 That’s because they weren’t responding the the customers, they are trying to reassure investors. It’s obvious they could care less about their customers anymore.
@NotSure15933706@TheGameVerse Not necessarily. GOG sells games outright. You can download full games and play offline. All it takes is the corporations to accept the concept of digital ownership, or like GOG retailers willing to sell games outright.
The issue is that we all already know that unless you have a physical game (and not even always then) you don’t own your PlayStation games. You have a limited license. When they get rid of physical games there will be no ownership at all. And if that’s the case, why even have a PlayStation at all? Just get a PC. Steam is also a license, but more user friendly and GOG lets you actually download and own full games, plus you can mod, which you can’t do on PS. Without physical games, Sony has nothing attractive to offer consumers.
@DannOverboard@Fluffly_4@ivvanex I need a gaming PC and thems ain’t cheap. My current home computer is an old ass iMac. Sure I could get a steam account on there, but why? My brother was saying he’d sell me his current rig because he’s planning to upgrade, so that might be my next step.
I’m not saying I’m happy about it, just that is the eventual end result. Even most of the games on disc don’t have the full games on them. That was true during the PS4 era. But there are platforms like https://t.co/HM7cwXtyZY that allow you to download a full copy of the game that can be played offline. That’s true digital ownership. You should learn to discern nuance
@dylansell22@TheGameVerse Yeah, and? Does the date I joined somehow invalidate the point? Is the point even something a bot would promote? Generally bots promote state or corporate propaganda, not individual digital ownership rights.
PlayStation thinks that they will keep customers based on their exclusive content, but their exclusives have been mostly garbage for ps5. Oh no, if I go pc I won’t be able to play GoW Laufey, or SB Wolverine? Whatever shall I do?
1/3 🖥️ What Sony and the PlayStation team fail to understand is that they are a video game console, not a PC. They cannot compete with Steam sales. No one wants to be locked into a video game digital-only ecosystem where they cannot trade or sell games. That's PC territory.
@TheGameVerse Since this was an investor presentation, I’m guessing Sony is “not being completely accurate” when they say that they haven’t seen any impact on sales. They don’t have to fully report sales until the next quarter. This was an effort to try to reassure investors.
