For anyone who’s ever faced a personal challenge, it doesn’t get much better than the 'Six Minutes' speech in VISION QUEST. This scene wasn’t in the 1979 novel by Terry Davis. Elmo's monologue was written specifically for the film by screenwriter Darryl Ponicsan (THE LAST DETAIL, TAPS). Actor J. C. Quinn absolutely knocks it out of the park here.

Congrats to senior wrestler and captain Mario Brienza for cleaning up at tonight’s RHS Awards Ceremony, including receiving the WRWOA’s Denny Mihaly Memorial Scholarship for character, leadership, and service! Proud of you Mario!
Louden Swain warms up to “Lunatic Fringe” before taking on Shute. In the original 1979 novel by Terry Davis, the story ends right after Louden runs out and the whistle blows. We never learn the outcome of the match. Win or lose, Louden had accomplished what he set out to do and faced his challenge. #VisionQuest

I’m often asked about the pegboard scene in VISION QUEST. That was all me. No stunt doubles or safety measures. I trained for a long time and had to climb it several times to get all the angles. The “trick” is not to over extend, so you’d be pulling up your entire body weight. You have to keep it compact. Arms and elbows tight. 💪🏽

Patton brothers wrestled both freestyle and Greco today at the NE Qualifier… Jackson finished 2nd in both styles at 14 U 100 lbs, and Carter finished 5th in both styles at 16U 132 lbs. Nice job boys!
