Dear Sir,
As a resident of Varthur, I sincerely request you to please visit the SH-35 Varthur–Gunjur–Panathur corridor once.
Year after year, lakhs of residents have been suffering due to unbearable traffic, dangerous roads, missing footpaths, dust, pollution and the complete lack of safe pedestrian infrastructure. Children, senior citizens and office commuters are forced to walk on the edge of a busy State Highway every single day.
The Varthur Elevated Corridor was awarded in 2019, yet residents are still waiting. Different departments cite land acquisition, right-of-way and coordination issues, while ordinary citizens continue to pay the price.
East Bengaluru is one of India’s largest IT and residential hubs and contributes immensely to Karnataka’s economy. Yet Varthur, Gunjur and Panathur continue to be among the most neglected areas when it comes to basic road infrastructure.
We respectfully request you to personally review this project, bring all concerned departments together, fix accountability and ensure a time-bound completion. The people of East Bengaluru deserve safe roads, proper footpaths and infrastructure that matches the city’s growth.
Please hear the voice of the residents.

CDP road in Gunjur ORR tech corridor and has been neglected for years. Govt has taken the people of this area for granted. @DKShivakumar had promised deadline of 31 Oct last year to fix potholes , but looks like the year was not mentioned, so not sure if it was 2025, 26 or 2040
It’s a rare incident in Independent India where taxpayers demanding better roads are being detained.
They are not protesting against CAA or Farm Bills. They are simply asking why newly built roads in Bengaluru start breaking within 15 days!
And this is happening in the so-called tech capital of India, where even raising your voice for basic civic rights is treated as a crime.
Is this the Ram Rajya that Mahatma Gandhi dreamt of?
Dear @RahulGandhi, come and join GenZ of Bengaluru in this fight for livable cities.
#Bengaluru This is the State Highway 35 (Varthur-Gunjur) stretch. And it’s not smoke but dust that’s rising. Should the rider look at the road to avoid potholes, or close their eyes/tilt their face away to avoid the dust? What about inhaling this dust on a daily basis?
🔴#BREAKING | Bengaluru: Standoff between police and residents amid protests over infrastructure mess
NDTV's @dpkBopanna joins @reetksahni with more details
Varthur road residents are doing a peaceful protest and demanding better road infra. They are greeted with police threats for arrest. Lots of police deployed to stop this @BangaloreMirror@BangaloreTimes1@CivicOp_india
@CricketKalra This was Nathan Astle’s match. A century to go with 4 wickets. One among the few quadrangular of the 90s, a rarity now. Disappointing finish for India in the home tournament.
We are able to do the difficult things - space exploration 🚀, remote sensing 🛰️, etc - but can’t solve basic problems 🛣️ which impact all 😤
