@co1bow@pn_neil_allen If it is "fewer ads" then it's a massive own goal. Precisely how many fewer? I would have signed up long ago if it were no ads.
Not your fault Neil, but please pass it up the chain.
@EFL_Comms#pompey fan here. At the risk of getting absolutely flamed by other Pompey fans, I think this is completely out of proportion. Promotion should be decided on the pitch.
I would much rather they lose it at Wembley, preferably in the final minute.
Golders Green is my local high street. It’s a great area, full of different cultures.
It’s a predominantly Jewish area and it’s a privilege as a non-Jew to live alongside such a warm and friendly community.
Since October 7th, there has been a visible increase in hostility towards the Jewish community. ‘Missing’ posters of relatives were torn down. Yellow ribbons removed from railings. ‘From the River to the Sea’ stickers plastered on lampposts. Verbal abuse in the street.
I’ve seen the fear grow in Jewish friends and neighbours, driven by political activists who have revelled in creating that fear. Enabled by others who are indifferent to the impact of their political bedfellows.
I hope they now appreciate the awful impact of their behaviour.
Saying ‘globalise the intifada’ isn’t just something that immediately identifies you as a dickhead, it is also a form of incitement.
If you say it, you are deliberately intimidating Jewish people.
Stop it, it’s vile.
Today is Holocaust Memorial Day, marking over 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. We remember the 6 million Jewish men, women and children murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators. As survivors grow fewer and antisemitism rises, today is more vital than ever.
Correction: latest figures in The Times cite 16,500 civilians murdered and 330,000 injured “in two days of utter slaughter”.
A regime that maintains its power by shooting and killing its own people has lost all international legitimacy.
Is it time for governments around the world to ask themselves ‘why are we appeasing and propping up this regime?’

Remember Aida Rostami was a brave doctor in Iran. She cared for people who were fighting for freedom by protesting against the regime. For this, the Islamic regime punished her in the most horrific way. They tortured her, breaking her bones, her nose, and her shoulders. They gouged out her left eye. Then, they murdered her.
Her broken body tells a story of unimaginable cruelty. Aida didn’t deserve this—she was a healer, not a criminal. The regime’s evil took her life because she dared to help others. Her sacrifice must not be forgotten.
We can’t stay silent. Aida’s story is a call to action. We must honor her courage by standing up against this brutality.
We can blame Trump for many things but not for our failure to spend on defence, or reform our welfare systems, or our inability to defend an ally from an attack by a corrupt, failing nation with a GDP smaller than Italy. This is largely a European failure

There is something rotten at the heart of Labour’s China policy. They gift China a mega-embassy running right over vital security cables, they crash a major spy trial letting Chinese traitors go free, they hand over vital islands to a Chinese ally.

We’ve had some stirring stuff lately from political and military leaders about putting the country on a war footing - here’s a video I’ve done for the Times about the gap between rhetoric and reality https://t.co/Dx1DrRb5L1
Last year I made a film about how the cruelty of sickness benefits: esp how alcoholics are offered cash, but no real help. Drink now kills 10,500/year
Last month, one of my school friends became one of these figures.
My reflections, after his funeral:-

Hang on, I thought digital ID was to stop migrants working here illegally?
Now Keir Starmer made an extraordinary admission in India, that digital ID cards could be introduced to access our ‘OWN MONEY’.
Talk about saying the quiet part out loud. Very concerning.
This week has been a shocker for those of us who care about the sanctity of human life, truth, justice, national security and our country’s steep decline.
So just to top it off…
