Districts so quick to change their curriculum based on shiny new “research” do so b/c they are not rooted in deep, strong pedagogical beliefs. They don’t have any. Nor do they have strong lit leadership w/ a DOK & years of exp. in expert instruction in gen ed & early literacy.
“Would it not be better to acknowledge each other’s contributions, to agree that there will never be one perfect pathway, and to help each other? ... We suggest it is time for educators to stop undermining each other and to join forces to get the job done.”

“Curriculum that does not allow for adaptation for individual students...will, by definition, fail to meet the needs of all learners. To expect otherwise is to ignore the depth of variation among human beings.”

Lester Laminack Webinar wisdom:
“In our attempt to raise the standards and test scores, let’s not forget that we’re raising humans. And when we take the time to read aloud, we are doing important work!” ❤️

Great leadership is not getting people to do stuff. It’s getting people to...
1. believe in themselves.
2. believe in something bigger than themselves.
