Extra gas charges, oil purchase, many vacation hours spent at an airport rental counter and/or on the phone and horrible customer service have made this a bit of an infamous trip for the family. Thanks, @Budget (9/9)
Oh, the trip home wasn’t going to be easy, though. Now the Expedition provided by @Budget decides that it has no oil pressure and needs servicing. A stop (in a neighborhood I did not want to be in) confirms the car has little/no oil. I purchased some oil, and got it home. (7/9)
After a few days/calls/texts with the local @Budget manager, we were told that we could keep the Expedition and pick up an SUV for the trip back. Another trip to the airport, more time at the counter and we were finally set for our trip back. (6/9)
Except, it wasn’t. So, we were offered two vehicles, a minivan and a midsize SUV. Not ideal, but agreeable. Except, while checking out, the @Budget manager calls back and decides we can only have a Ford Expedition for now. (5/9)
We arrive in South Carolina at our B&B and the van reports that the parking brake needs serviced. After turning the van off/on, it decided the parking brake was now on. This caused the first call to @Budget roadside assistance. (3/9)
A @Budget rental story. Buckle up (pun intended). Rented a passenger van from a location near home to be picked up at 8 am. Arrived at the counter at 7:15 and told they didn’t know when they could get a van there. (1/9)
However, we could pick one up from a @Budget 30 minutes away, if we were willing to drive to get it. We pick up the van, double back for the fam and stuff and we’re on our way to South Carolina. The “fun” is just beginning. (2/9)
