@hdevalence same here but... i have not yet seen a game use blockchain integration in a way that enhances the experience rather than degrades it, have you?
it turns out that in-game assets don't make much sense outside of the context of the game itself, perhaps?
1/3 Good to see @joepetrowski talking about stepping back from asset-conversion pallet being marketed as DOTSwap. I didn't think a UniV2 clone can be a competition to newer and superior dex models but state-sponsored marketing could mean
there's little point in raging against the government's crackdown on crypto/DeFi
people got greedy and sloppy
we mostly have DeFi prototypes but decided to pretend they were as good as the real thing (and try to get rich from them: Theranos-, fake-it-till-you-make-it style)
why was silvergate’s FHLB loan withdrawn suddenly?
why are they in voluntary liquidation instead of being acquired or otherwise reintegrated as is typical?
why was signature shut down?
I don't think you can ban fractional reserve banking (basically, maturity transformation). It's a phenomenon like cocaine & liquid staking. But you can make it safer with a sound regulatory environment.
Of course historically America has never had a fucking clue how to do that🧵
perhaps it would be good if there were a way to use cryptography to define the specific behavior and bounds of financial infrastructure, using rules that everyone can check and that are as hard to break as the hardest known math problems
@dbrauer So far there has been no attempt to plow the "parking" lane on my street, so I'm hoping they are not done... In previous snow emergencies they have eventually gotten to it but not during the actual "snow emergency" (so several cars were parked there)
@hdevalence In general, it seems like this is the reason for app-chains over general purpose chains, right? App-chains will always be able to better constrain their block producers in ways that result in the desirable flows in information (for privacy) and value (to constrain MEV)
@CurveFinance@ameensol@haydenzadams@markus_@Uniswap Didn't think about this too hard, but aren't monetary policy mechanisms like RAI's reliant on external liquidity being available at the market price rather than the target price? What is IL in an AMM context is the (desirable) fluctuation in RAI supply which stabilizes the price
