Most investors know the Sharpe Ratio. Fewer use the Sortino Ratio, which is often better for Bitcoin.

Sharpe penalises all volatility. Sortino only penalises downside volatility. That matters because Bitcoin’s explosive upside is part of its return profile.

Historically, when Bitcoin’s 365-day Sortino Ratio drops below zero, downside risk has dominated the prior year.

Those periods have repeatedly marked excellent long-term accumulation windows.

Negative Sortino doesn’t guarantee a bottom. It signals improving risk-reward asymmetry.
