@OVRPerformance This is good info OVR if you’re in USA Indonesia and Myanmar. Do you present similar data for the other 99% using metric?
Do I assume as well that your 5-10-5 scores are 4.57-9.14-4.57 in metric? Was considering getting into OVR gear so does your app account for this with norms
@timkettenring Saw the other day you use the word lactic in relation to anaerobic glycolysis. Lactate is more accurate given how the body manages the associated hydrogen ions. Lactic or lactic acid is an outdated term as I understand it. Thoughts?
Movement skills:
Young athletes should be exposed to and be proficient in as many movement skills as possible to build the biggest base of athleticism as possible.
But some of you think teaching back squats for a 10 year old develops elite athleticism...

You don’t rush a sunrise. Same with kids in the gym. Build physical literacy first, strength will follow. Every kid is in their own time zone.
Some are ready for structured strength training. Others are still building balance, coordination, and confidence. Plan accordingly.
Jedi Tag!! If your interested here’s the rules:
Strike a💪🦵limb and they can’t use that limb anymore. (Why you will see some hop, or be forced to use their non dominant arm)
Strike the body & they ☠️ (Take a knee) when someone w/ the same color light 🔦saber touches theirs they come back to life! 🔋
Strike the 😵💫 & the striker ☠️
Last team standing wins! Thanks to @FarmingtonPower
A consistent observation is that most pure endurance athletes are withered & frail from 65-70 onwards. The pure strength folks do a bit better (unless too big; plenty seem to die early). The 70yo+ athletes that sprint & do gymnastic-type training are clearly winning the (physical) longevity game. Cognitive longevity = a separate matter.
Brilliant…great resource for curriculum reflection across all areas. Vision, programming. pedagogy, assessment, feedback…definitely going to dig deep into this. @WillSwaithes
Is your #PhysEd curriculum, assessment and intended learning outcomes holistic enough to meet the needs & motivations of today?
Do you explicitly deliver against these 12 threads?
Are we missing anything?

HIP MOBILITY - We can all benefit from some added attention to the hips. If you are unsure of where to start…
Start with this thread 🧵
Hip swivels, use your hands to keep your posture upright and alternate legs going into internal rotation.

@Toohey_sp Thanks mate. I always appreciate your choice of exercises you show with your HS students, but am curious about how you structure workouts in your gym to maximise efficiency of numbers with limited resources
The amount of mini-adult training programs on social media is astounding...
Just an FYI: Kids have little desire to do:
planks
split squats
weighted carries
They literally have the rest of their lives to exercise. The pre-adolescent years should be dedicated to developing agility, balance, coordination, and body awareness in a dynamic and engaging environment.
It's important that children have positive movement experiences early in life so that have a desire to continue to move as they get older.

@Jeukendrup@GarethHawgood back at you. Wonder if that general opening section could be about the general rules and purpose of supplementation with activity to dive deep into examples this based on the ais 4 categories
