At Connaught Place, Delhi Police personnel verbally and physically assaulted protesters carrying the national flag, and forcibly dragged them into detention buses, well after dark.

Flag unfurling in CP despite huge numbers of police and paramilitaries.
‘Bal Narendra and 56 inch ka Chhota 🐵’ slogans in the air. @jahnavi_sen@thewire_in@thewirehindi
Where is @abhijeet_dipke? Where is @neha_aisa?
Detaining them without disclosing their whereabouts is blatantly illegal and deeply inhumane.
The Union Government must release them immediately and stop suppressing peaceful protests. Every attempt to crush the movement will only make it stronger.
#GyaneshKumarMustGo. The Union BJP Government has no other option.

See the audacity of the police
They are justifying Bhagat Singh’s arrest
Students asked why protesting is considered wrong, pointing out that even Bhagat Singh used to protest,
Police replied- Bhagat Singh, too, had been arrested.
This implies that we are still being ruled by the British, doesn't it?
R.K. Sharma, 59, who came for the Tiranga march outside Central Park in Connaught Place, said that India needs a Chief Election Commissioner like T.N. Seshan.
"We need an impartial Chief Election Commissioner like T.N. Seshan. He worked for the country and not for any political party. He enforced and penalised political parties, introduced photo electoral rolls. Public needs the trust back," Mr. Sharma said.
"I voted for BJP in 2014 and 2019. But I don't believe any party should stay in power for more than 10 years. BJP is setting the wrong precedent. If we don't demand change now, future political parties can also misuse the electoral system in their favour," he added.

Ram Leela Stopped 💔
Residents of CM @gupta_rekha’s Shalimar Bagh constituency allege she has stopped Ram Leela.
If this is true, CM Rekha Gupta must clarify.
WHAT IS DELHI POLICE UP TO?
Abhijeet Dipke has been detained for holding the Indian National Flag. Let that sink in. In Independent India, our youth are being detained for peacefully asserting their democratic rights.
This is nothing short of an undeclared Emergency. A government that fears dissent is now trying to intimidate an entire generation into silence. This is the conduct of a fascist regime that cannot tolerate a voice it cannot control.
Abhijeet, Ashutosh, Saurav — you represent the courage, conscience and aspirations of India’s youth. You cannot silence an entire generation by suppressing its voice.
Your Didi stands firmly with you. No intimidation, no detention and no abuse of power can crush the spirit of democracy.
WAKE UP, INDIA! The fight for democracy, freedom and the right to dissent will continue.
Neha was detained by police alone!
Where is Neha?
Nothing warrants this brutality, attack and abduction by Delhi Police!

🚨IMPORTANT🚨
The Delhi Police has taken Abhijeet Dipke to an undisclosed location. We have lost contact with him. He is not being allowed to talk to lawyers.
Why does this government treat youth like terrorists? We are equal citizens of India and we deserve all the protections and rights of the Constitution!
@DelhiPolice where have you taken Abhijeet? You owe an answer to us. Abhijeet was just walking out of his home with a Tiranga in his hand!
HOW CAN WALKING WITH A TIRANGA BE A CRIME?
Mumbai Police has filed an FIR no. 0813 against me for organising the protest at August Kranti Maidan on 10th October. Thank you Ganvdevi Police Station, even the Colonial Police had filed FIR and charge sheet against Kasturba And Mohandas Gandhi my Ancestors. Thank you for this Certificate of Distinction.
